Today the internet & phone went in at the new shop and we did some building.

Oh, and it's currently 74°. :P

*whistles* Also went out for a quick and cold ride on the beach cruiser. Definitely going to be getting a trainer this year if this winter is going to be as bad as they say it's going to be.

JohnDThompson 11-12-13 07:40 PM

28°F today with a wind chill of 18°F. Only rode about 5 miles to pick up my wife's car from the shop, but that was enough.

garlic_rice 11-12-13 09:20 PM

Today I was back at work after a kickass weekend in Austin. Played records for a packed field, met Bushwick Bill, and watched Slayer from backstage. Totally made up for my MacBook Pro logic board failure.

Huffandstuff 11-12-13 09:37 PM

Flying back home and the tsa confiscated my make shift pedal wrench(trimmed down 15) because well just because. Can't wait to be back home and able to ride again.

SpeshulEd 11-12-13 09:44 PM

It's been in the 90's the past couple of days here. It's a bit on the extreme side but not wearing warmers on the commute in the morning kicks butt!

The weather is my favorite thing about moving to Southern California. Its november and I commuted in regular cargo shorts today.

Nice invisible bike Dan! How much does it weigh?

On a more serious note, what is Dan's next frameset gonna be? kilo tt? Leader 7X5? Cinelli MASH? EAI bareknuckle? Super pista?

really happy with the look and feel of them.
Unfortunately my lever wouldn't mount properly, so I had to take them off until I order a new lever. sucks.

I also need to redo the track grips. I used windex to get them on, which worked, but they're still slipping. Gonna try canned air to see if it'll dry them out.

Just watch it's gonna be a wabi.

Today I decided to not buy another track frame to replace my Mash. Instead I'm gonna go look at caad 10's and bikes that are around that price range.

I still have my mercier for commuting and if I want to ride fixed. Im keeping all the parts from my mash build though because I do plan on building up another track frame around march.

So many things to post here. It's been an eventful couple of months.

Today I decided I'm pretty much a fairweather cyclist. Need to pick up rollers sometime in the next few months.

I completed my CC's welding program last year. It was fun and very informative. I learned stick, TIG, MIG, and FCAW. The instructor was a very knowledgeable guy with decades of professional experience. You will enjoy the metallurgical and mechanical aspects (face crystal formation, heat-affected zones, etc.) and learn to hate the electromagnetic phenomenon of "arc-blow" when you begin vertical 7018.

Not sure if you will enjoy working in the field, though. Generally pretty rowdy dudes that might not take kindly to your brand of sarcasm. Do you have much blue-collar work experience? I ended up not seeking employment after I got my certification and mostly use my welding education for personal projects and a bit of odd-job cash now that I have a TIG machine.

Also, the Lincoln Procedure Handbook of Welding is amazingly informative. It's like the official welding textbook. Most of the people that post on welding forums regarding technique don't seem to know what they are talking about. This guy has pretty good videos on technique if you need supplementary material: http://www.youtube.com/user/weldingtipsandtricks

Yup.

Been too busy with the day job to make it to Kissena as often as I'd like... and when I do have the time to ride, I prefer road. (BAN)

Dannihilator 11-13-13 10:06 PM

Today I put the Steamroller together.

Leukybear 11-13-13 10:19 PM

Today during my mid - day ride, it was high noon and I had my jersey half zipped. The stars just happened to all line up in the right way and a bee flew in there and violated me.
