My "bike" is starting to look like a bike, getting the headset pressed on wednesday. Then I buildddddd..... minus a stem and bars, gotta make sure it's a comfy ride

Today I got my Univega Gran Turismo back from powdercoating. It looks wonderful  and I can't wait to put it together on Friday. I am highly impressed by the prep work and finish so I want to take my new(to me) Gran Premio for a coating too since there is surface rust and crappy touch-up paint applications. I will be disassembling the bike anyway.

Today I put in another 30 miles.

I had my Scapin primered but my paint was **** so just gonna clear coat it. Luckily stripping month old primer is way easier than stripping almost 30 year old paint and primer. Gonna use POR 15 Glisten PC, hope it's as good as it sounds like it is.

The BMX company? That's rad. Congrats.

Good luck. Bunch of dudes from a vintage motorcycle forum I read use a POR 15 product to line/seal gas tanks and kvetch about it failing and breaking down.

Today I finally got my free Cosmic Saddle from Leader after I purchased a 2013 frame over a month ago.

Well, that's a win right there.

Leukybear 02-26-14 02:12 AM

Today I nearly had a large cooking knife plunge into my foot.
It slipped from the cutting board while transferring stuff to the pot and plunged directly into the hardwood deep enough to leave it standing up.

Wouldn't have been such a big deal if my sandal clad foot wasn't less than an inch from where it landed or if I wasn't an avid cyclist.

But you're more likely to slip and fall in the bathroom.

Sandals man, why?

I used to work in a grocery store and got pretty skilled at saving dropped glass jars by catching them on my foot, or at least breaking their fall.

Then I moved into the meat dept as a cutter and had to unlearn the skill of catching dropped things with my foot...

Replaced the belt on my treadmill so I can shed lbs before it thaws here and not feel like an elephant on my recently acquired Steamroller.

Bare steel is nice. Maybe I can just send my frame to be sand blasted and clear coat it myself.
