Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Bikes: Foundry Chilkoot Ti W/Ultegra Di2, Salsa Timberjack Ti, Cinelli Mash Work RandoCross Fun Time Machine, 1x9 XT Parts Hybrid, Co-Motion Cascadia, Specialized Langster, Phil Wood Apple VeloXS Frame (w/DA 7400), R+M Supercharger2 Rohloff, Habanero Ti 26

Visited Mellow Johnny's and rode a Vamoots RSL with SRAM Force and rather liked it. The guy I was talking said I could even ride one of Lance's old EMX bikes around the store but I couldn't do that. I would be so nervous and skittish. I might go back to test ride some other stuff though. The Chris King Cielo build they had was freakin' nice and a Seven Cycles Ti lugged carbon frame with the Campy Super Record that I am curious to try since I have never ridden Crampandgoslo before.

Unfortunately they didn't have much in the way of fixed gear stuff but it was still a dope experience. To those who wanted me to contact them when here I have forgotten who and which thread it was in so I apologize. However I am here feel free to PM me and maybe we can hang out. I will try and find my post. In fact it may have been here?!

Tonight I am super ambivalent about my training plans over the next two mornings, given that it is going to rain here.

I'm gonna go anyway, and if it is raining, just rack up some TSS riding a steady high tempo instead of doing intervals at Fiesta Island. #calisoft

I try not to ride in the rain here just because of how stupid every driver becomes.

It's because they don't know the secret.

Today @AristoNYC stopped by the shop while out here doing job interview stuff and ate delicious pizza from Luigi's with us.

It was cool meeting you, man. Bummer it was raining while you were here!

It was great meeting both of you, thanks for the info and hospitality. And this NY pizza snob approved the pizza at Luigi's. I really enjoyed SD, even with the "cold" and rainy weather while I was here.

Today I received a follow up email hinting that I should be getting an offer from the job in San Diego shortly. Apparently they'll be looking for me to start Jan 12th, YIKES! that's quick.

Well actually it was yesterday, but rode a nice 30 miler in steady rain--got home right at "official" sunset, and the temp was rapidly on the decline...
