I'm only messing around. I meant to put a smiley winky face in that last comment, but i had a timer going off in my Lab and had to run and get it.

Unkle Rico 01-20-15 01:51 PM

Haha yeah, something like that. We have a couple mad ones around here. I work for Canon, in their MICR ink/toner R&D Dept.

Unkle Rico 01-20-15 02:10 PM

That sounds sweet! So like developing new inks from the tears of children and the pixie dust from ground down unicorn horns? Basically?

Basically, yes.
we do everything from small desktop printers, to giant 800 page a minute printers, like what Amazon uses to print a book, when you order it from them. Did you know that? alot of books you order from Amazon, are printed when you order it. Printed, bound and everything.

Unkle Rico 01-20-15 02:20 PM

Huh, that's super interesting. Funny biz model but i guess that's probably the best way to avoid overstock.. In my print shop days, I used to love binding books -- a dying art for sure.

Sweet! Sounds like a interesting gig!

Meh, it's ok. I'm really hoping i get one of the three winery jobs in Sonoma that i have interviews coming up for.

Today I rode full lycra racing kit plus a jacket on my fixed gear. It was about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday, but still mild enough to ride in shorts.

Also, when I returned home I found my sweet NOS Sidi old school cycling shoes that I had ordered sitting by the front door. Fortunately, I live in a decent neighborhood where stuff doesn't get stolen. Can't wait to put some cleats on them and try them out on one of my vintage bikes. :D

Muffin Man 01-20-15 04:29 PM

Rode up Mt. Hamilton today. I'm ****ing slow.

bro 01-20-15 07:39 PM

gonna have to get a geared bike hahah

i'm still gonna build up a vintage track frame, itll be funny to see a brakeless track bike in the mountains just bombing around and grinding up hills

im stoked, the scenery there is amazing.

Mumonkan 01-20-15 08:49 PM

bro 01-20-15 09:57 PM

my friend corey was like "hey my boss needs three more workers in the kitchen" so i was like, okay i'm on it. he goes over the apps tomorrow. then i get a bus or a train out there, and i'll be like washing dishes and preparing food at one of their lodges/hotels, and staying in a dorm. after work i'll get to walk right out the door into some seriously beutiful stuff, i'm pumped. if i get hired i'll be working at one of the buildings in this picture: http://t.wallpaperweb.org/wallpaper/...ional_Park.jpg

Not much tree cover, but the views are pretty cool.

Carcosa 01-21-15 12:44 AM

Today I posted after more than a month hiatus. Feels good to be back.

Bikes suck.

Leukybear 01-21-15 12:57 AM

Oh, man! Good luck! Yellowstone is so beautiful. I was recently trying to explain to someone how going to national parks is so awesome because most of the people who take the time to visit are often super friendly and interesting. I've met a lot of really amazing people at the national parks I've visited.

Mumonkan 01-21-15 09:47 AM

Things are getting that desperate?

Just kidding. Finishing your degree is one of the more soul satisfying things you can do...go for it.

Unkle Rico 01-21-15 01:20 PM

Agreed. It's just going to get harder and harder to finish that stuff up the longer you wait.. :thumb:

seau grateau 01-21-15 02:47 PM

I learned I overestimated the tire clearance of a fork slightly. Time to bust out the file.

I had that problem when I tried to stuff some much fatter tires into a bike, and was able to fix it by just moving the wheel axle down a tiny bit in the fork dropouts.
