Started to strip my Centurion frame for new paint. Rain got in the way so I had to stop mid removal to clean up and place everything inside. Was hoping to start removing rust tomorrow but looks like it will be a continuation of today.

got a call from the superintendent of the facility i interviewed at. he wanted to confirm my interest and then told me he was submitting my name for transfer approval and, of those interviewed, only my name.

it's strange going back to work with the ultraviolent crazies. especially now that i'm not required to fight with them. looking forward to a more focused and professional setting.

took the Ridley Crossbow 1x8 setup to work today, just to change things up.

got the final bits needed to finish the Surly 1x1 mtb. so can't wait to flog it on some trails. it's like an adult bmx bike. :)

Today I had gotten a few runs in at the dirt jumps then it started to rain. So started to head home which a severe storm came through. Bunch of down trees powerlines and poles. Waited a bitthen went out on the 930 to get some miles in and to get a scope of the carnage. Also was FINALLY able to kill off the those specialized roubaix armadillo elites...

Got right hooked by a car today and won. No signal, no look turn right.into me but I was able to just turn with him and get foot out fast enough to push off his car, stayed up and riding the whole time but knocked his hubcap off. Great way to start the work day.

jdgesus 06-18-13 09:44 AM

thats why i hate right hand bike lanes.

at all intersections, i take the lane with the cars, merge back over afterwords. been right hooked too many times.

did the person notice you after you kicked the car?

"best" one i saw once here, right hook, guy does like you, turned in with teh car the best he could, but still bounced off the side a bit, but grabbed onto the mirror (was a box van) and rode with the guy a block before he noticed and stopped!

AMERICA! :D

Huffandstuff 06-18-13 10:05 AM

Im sure they noticed me, but I just kept going cause I had to get to work and no point in stopping to talk about it since no real damages or injuries.

seau grateau 06-18-13 10:17 AM

Last night a driver sped up so much to pass me that she almost hit the car 20 feet in front of me while it was slowing down to turn. Would've been really funny.

jdgesus 06-18-13 10:19 AM

...
stoopid bikes makeing me speed up and drive like a jerk just to get past them.

yummygooey 06-18-13 10:55 AM

umami almost died on sunday. a car tried to park on top of him.

jdgesus 06-18-13 11:21 AM

yummygooey 06-18-13 11:29 AM

Built a State Bike for my lil bro. After building and first ride, initial reaction was that it's on par or just a bit better than a sub $300 BD bike. Welds look up to par with my gf's Motobecane Track. It was crazy though, the headset and bearings had all this sand-like grit in it, so I had to clean and regrease it. Unacceptable. The rims are also out of true, but I expected that. The toe clips are horrible as well. Overall, looks and ride quality are not bad. Total weight: 23.0 lbs for a 55cm

My headset and wheels were fine. Toe clips are ugly, but I'm too poor to get new ones lol. Check the chain ring bolts, mine were loose and made popping noises

E: My front tire also just failed, bead separated from the casing. I check my PSI weekly

It was probably an isolated incident, then. I mean, look at this ****! It was on the top and bottom bearings. How does that stuff even happen?
