I had a package sent from Seattle on Friday evening.

I got to Atlanta Sunday morning.

It hasn't made the 52 mile trip from 30369 to 30182 yet.

It's hot, humid and the package has a new jersey in it.

I get so tired of people *****ing about shipping. I remember ordering skateboards and bike parts over the phone or sending a check via mail order when I was a kid. There was no tracking or automated updates, the stuff just showed up when it showed up and everyone was a lot more content because they weren't freaking out about it all the time.

Actually, no. I live just far enough out of town and close enough to I20 that I do get a cell phone signal. WooHoo for the Interstate Corridor.

I remember those days too, it was nice because you ended up forgetting about it and then one day there was a surprise present at your door!

I order stuff and sometimes even forget I did and enjoy the surprise I get when it finally arrives.

Today I am officially the owner of a new(to me) 91 Jeep Cherokee limited. Really proud of myself for saving up and buying it with no help from my parents at 17 y/o. Plan on changing a lot of things.

Currently looks like this.

This was the main reason I chose it ,my grandpa has one that with regular maintenance is still running with 400k+ miles, mine has 160k.

Only thing I dont like is the color matched (white) wheels. Probably gonna go with something in black like so: (sorry for huge pic)

Yeah, the mileage already sucks on that thing. Might as well make it even worse.

Adrian_ 06-20-13 08:37 PM

It's definitely not a Prius but I wouldn't call the mpg bad, interwebs say 14 city but I get 18. Explain what you mean by making it worse.

striknein 06-20-13 08:51 PM

Ignore him. They'll run forever with regular maintenance.

Those oversize all terrain tires really reduce your mileage.

Yeah, screw the environment. Global warming is a hoax anyway.

Dannihilator 06-20-13 08:58 PM

Today I rode more dirt.

For every prius/ "green" vehicle sold in the world, there's another gas guzzling luxury car with an exorbitant engine displacement sold somewhere else in the world....

FWIW Toyota SUVs toward the higher end of the model hierarchy get just as low MPG as a hummer. I have no idea why hummers get all the flak from the general public for their "eco-footprint"; must be the stigmatized owners.

Nagrom_ 06-20-13 09:04 PM

Hybrid batteries are terrible for the environment.

Shhh we'll learn our lesson in 10 years when the 1st gens start dying out.

Nagrom_ 06-20-13 09:06 PM

All electric is just as stupid.
Where are you getting your electricity? Burning fossil fuels. Fantastic.

We need to go back to diesel.

Leukybear 06-20-13 09:08 PM

I heard bikes are eco-friendly. I think. Perhaps?
