do you find that castelli fits significantly smaller than other brands? i have other canari, specialized and pearl izumi bits that all fit. I bought a clearance canari long thermal bib without trying it on (mistakenly thinking the canari bits i have were castelli...). Anyhow, its way to small. I don't know if its a womens or something... The tag doesn't say anything other than XL in regards to size.

Castelli does run significantly smaller than most/all other brands I've used. I'm a small in everything else, and a medium in Castelli -- it's actually a bit smaller than some of the other smalls.

Got a flat flat 15 miles away from home, right when I was turning around on my way back. UGH.

Thankfully my GF was at work about 3 miles away so I was able to walk over and take her car home. But walking in bike shoes sucks.

No carrying a flat kit?


Tomorrow I find out if I am a certified structural welder with the flux core process. I don't like the wait.

Have you tried some large flux wire? Blows stick out of the water in terms of speed and deposition. 0.072" Lincoln NR232 is a hell of a wire to work with, really, so many burns and blisters.

Today I received a SRAM PC-7X in the mail. I'd been led to believe that they were out of production, but they keep popping up for sale. My KMC K710 is almost done at ~1300 miles, so I'm hoping the 7X's hardened pins fare better...

Well I had my patch kit, but forgot my pump because I'm an idiot.

Today I made $70 selling random s*** out of my basement at the big neighborhood yard sale. Drank beer and played banjo at the same time.

No bike parts sold though. Mostly old ladies looking for dishes.

I was at an installation site once, and they let try their large MIG rig (gasoline powered) it had flux core in it. I was positively impressed by the power it had but was not so keen on the splatter. The welds looked harder to clean up than when using something like 7018 sticks. That to me is the beauty of MIG, no slag to clean up.

Flux core technology has improved a lot and I can see the utility for construction work. Often you can't use regular MIG outside, because the wind blows the shielding gas away.

Yeah flux is super sensitive to every parameter. When done right the slag peels off by itself or takes a light touch to knock off. Do it wrong and the slag is practically glued on.

Oh, and YES! I passed the bend test. I hear the local iron workers are desperate for certified flux welders.

Haven't seen it in their site with disc mounts. Ritchey WCS is probably going to be what I get if whiskey doesn't actually have one.
