Up early to head out to a charity ride for the local hospice. 30 mile ride out in the country that raises money for hospice here. That is my kind of ride. Couple of my friends are riding with me if they can get up this early. 2 of us on fixed, one on a road bike.

I am back home for the summer.

Pretty sure I was falling for one of my friends right in the last month and a half or so, so I have very mixed feelings about leaving ): oh well.

In better news, one of my summer rides is a Torelli pista specced out to be porn worthy. Full details soon, but as it sits it has some tasty Phil bits, Thompson everywhere it can be, and Sugino 75's. Can't wait to get it how I want it, which I think will be carbon seatpost/stem/bars, as well as getting rid of the Phil cog, which is loud as hell.

Setup a deal for a flat bar commuter with disc brakes.

What is wrong with me.

Not me. $2170 for Omnomnoms and a PC-1 chain. Also, it's BB30 with a threaded adapter, which is stupid.

You also forgot the road rake on that fork.

I saw that, but didn't say anything because I figured it's not meant to be a serious track machine.

That looks to be a car show, possibly a VW only show, or VAG at least.

How do Thomson bars feel? I've always wondered how bars that expensive would feel haha

Comparing 54cm frames, the geometry is very close in some ways with the Caad10 road frame. Same head tube length, same top tube length, trail looks very close, chainstay length is close, wheels base is close(assuming track ends gives it the longer wheelbase), 1cm shorter front-center, 1cm higher BB, 1.5* steeper seat tube.

It's actually 110% legal and that's not the worst of it.

Car dealers literally mask their new car designs in optical illusions for road testing. So the public eye and competitors have a harder time getting the scoops.

free shipping they arrived in 3 business days. thats better than 90% of online shopping from US retailers.

UK shipping isn't bad at all coming into the US. Bought stuff from chain reaction, PBK, wiggle and they all arrived within the week. Quickest was a PBK package that took only 3 days to my disbelief.

That was one of the cool things about living in Santa Barbara -- You'd see these cars all the time running around with all sorts of gizmos attached. Cool stuff!

usps has taken packages that come from <10 miles away and brings them 50 miles away for "sorting", just to go past their original shipping point and then to me

ive also paid $15 shipping on things that fit in my hand and weigh less than a pound

props to chain reaction and "parcelforce" for shipping the **** out of that.

Yeah, I really don't understand the reasoning behind some of these shipping carriers methods -- it just doesnt make sense. I recently had ordered a few things from Merlin Cycles in the UK -- 8-10 biz day shipping. The package got to SF within a few days but then took a week to actually get it in my hands. So weird
