today i centuried for the second time. tried for a brevet but i was 10 miles from water and i had 6% battery left so i decided to just go home

was a good day though, i rarely get a weekday off so the paths and roads were mostly empty, especially the bridge entrance which is most annoying

Washed and waxed the Redline. It cleaned up pretty nice once I got all the grime off.

Still waiting on a headset, and she'll be ready to ride.

Today I was giving my bike a once over before a long ride tomorrow and spotted this:

So I stuffed a dollar bill in there... I feel like I've read about people doing that before, I swear...

Can you see the green?

Proof once more that money does fix anything.

All joking aside, there seems to be some sidewall damage on that tire, I would consider replacing it as soon as finances allow.

Today I was invited to join a long range japanese biking team called Kametaro. There is a 311km race next May, I think I may need a new bike though. We are going to be doing 124km Sunday, so I will get a small taste of what they do. My longest ride to date is only 80km, this will be "fun."

TIL that FedEx SmartPost - where your local USPS does the final to-your-door delivery leg - is complete ****.

Amazon shipped me the new Boards of Canada LP over a week ago. Shows as DELIVERED on the tracking as of June 13, but it is nowhere to be found. My mailroom guy (I had it shipped to work) says that our local post office is completely awful and he's not surprised this happened, and that it's happened to him and other staff before. The USPS marked it as delivered even though it wasn't, and now there's no way to track it. Whee!

I've had items shipped to me via USPS Priority Mail with tracking that get shown as delivered when it was not, but it has always eventually shown up. I nearly freaked out when Scrod sent me some items and they didn't get shipped for a week by his local office and then got shown as delivered when they were not. Once something got sent to the wrong city and it too 2 weeks for it to finally get re-routed back to me. Also, sometimes my regular letter carrier is sick or on vacation, and the alternate carrier will deliver my mail to the wrong address. This can be a serious problem if it's a bill, and my payment is late.

I don't have a problem when I ship it to my house, but I rushed through the order and didn't notice it was defaulting to delivering to my office. My bf, who works just down the street, has had similar issues getting things shipped to work too. I think this particular post office is especially bad.

And it isn't eligible for AutoRip so I can't even listen to the MP3s. SADFACE.

Pirate it. I fail to feel a bit guilty if I've actually paid for the album.

Record industry says its cool if you own a physical copy. But if you got it on vinyl its probably so much better since they run it through a tape machine for that analog sauce

Agree in principle, but there is something to be said for the "new vinyl" ritual.

Technically, if I paid for the analog copy but have not yet received it, do I "own" it? I ASK YOU THIS.

Anyways, Amazon is one-day shipping a new copy. We'll see if it ever arrives. They apparently can't ship to a different address, so it's getting sent to the same black hole post office. (Though maybe being shipped one-day they won't use that stupid smartpost system)
