I've been hearing good things about the new Power saddles from Specialized, but they're pricey.

Today this thread made me wonder why saddle manufacturers don't offer a line of saddles with integrated tail lights. They could make some super stealthy models......hmmmm

Generally speaking, I disagree. Any time I ever rode with a group it always turned into a competition. I'd much rather ride alone.

OR go one up with a saddle that has built in bottle cage

Today I bought a diamondback interval for 100 dollars, and I am happy with its crimo hi ten mix frame and middle of the line components, I am a bigger guy and this thing feels really solid under me. It's basically in showroom condition and I am thrilled by its electric blue paint

Today instead of putting on the kit and hitting one of my normal routes... I took a break from my normal 25 mile loop. I readied a vintage bike, and dressed in plaid shorts and a knit golf shirt. OK... I did wear cycling shorts under the plaid shorts. But I wore retro tennis shoes as my vintage bike has toe cages. I even went as far as to wear my regular glasses instead of contacts and cycling glasses.

It was fun! A relaxed fun. I had planned on stopping for an ice cream cone or Starbucks coffee. But I didn't feel a need to stop. I rode at a slower pace.... just shy of getting my golf shirt too sweaty. I rode a little further and a little longer than planned.

It was nice.

Nice! I once scored a 1999 one for $50, but not as nice a shape as yours sounds. Took a LOT of WD-40 to get the freehub to engage and the brifters to work. For some reason it had PD-7401 pedals on it, which weigh a ton but hey, Dura-Ace! I loved the snubnose Cyclops RSX 3x7 levers it had, too.

How about integrated into the helmet?

300 clams for a seat.

Bicycle people make me laugh.

Pretty much the way to ride.

This. I like this. Wondering how a TT seat would be for every day usage though. And I appreciate you picking out the right color for me. :)

I was checking out a $270 chain today. I gotta stay on top of these things in case I ever get too much money.

Looks like an adamo saddle and a selle SMP saddle had a baby together...

Don't, ever.

TenSpeedV2 08-16-15 09:11 AM

Today I realized that within a 3 mile radius of my apartment I have:

2 - 24 hour convenience stores
2 - gas stations
2 - post offices
1 - mall
2 - stores (Target and Wally World)
4 - grocery stores (2 of them are 24 hour super stores)
2 - bike shops
3 - sub shops
14 - restaurants (though not all good, like Chili's)
1 - police station
1 - fire station
1 - Chinese take out place that is open on Sundays
1 - MUP that connects me to a main road with a bike lane that will get me to downtown/campus easily
1 - lame mountain bike trail that runs on the backside of my complex
1 - farmers market in the summer

There is a lot more, but last night after riding home, dropping my work stuff off, letting the dog out, and riding up the 24 hour grocery and more store, I started realizing that I have it pretty good as far as location goes. The roads are not really ideal for riding as they are higher traffic/higher speed roads. Riding them at 12:15 at night however is decent. Did some grocery shopping for a few things and packed them in my bag and rode home. Could have easily taken the car but why?

Heavy pockets weigh you down brother? Allow me to lighten your load, friend.

Today I crashed pretty hard in a cat 4 race. Ruined my new helmet and lost some skin. Oh well...

Sry to hear spRICE, glad the damage isn't worse.

My advice: Earn some upgrade points and race in the 3s!!!! Although in all honesty, we're not a whole lot safer :D

Today: 3hrs of mainly endurance, hit a few climbs kinda hard. I had planned on putting in 4 today but it's hot, and I'm lazy.

Blew the dust off the mandolin and played a song with the choir in church. Emptied the pews-not sure what the issue was!

Flatulentfox 08-16-15 02:08 PM

Today I got caught in some rain on a B-17. I didn't die.

Make sure you dry it when you get home. I used to grow mold on my Brooks and Ideale saddles in Portland. ride a couple hours in the rain. Hang bike in super damp garage or basement. Repeat for a few days straight, then leave bike alone for a couple of days.

Mumonkan 08-16-15 02:35 PM

i used a b17 on my commuting/rain bike. i had a regular ol grocery bag rolled up and tucked inbetween the saddle and post. if you got fenders itl be fine since your ass protects the top, i used it mostly for when i had it locked up in precip

Sherblock 08-16-15 03:07 PM

guys I need to get a rack, only problem is the Kona rove has stupid mid-fork mounts that don't actually fit any rack. I think. Plus, it doesn't have canti posts, which makes it extra hard to find anything. Does anyone know what type of mounts these are? You can see the pic for the weird location.
