Today I found out at my dentist's office that I'm gonna need another root canal and crown done. Sad thing it's a gold crown that was done 7 years ago that has somehow gotten decayed and abcessed underneath. Love how it only cost me only about $200 to have double hernia surgery under Medicare, but I'm spending over $4K for dental work this year, because none of it is covered. I got on my knees and begged him for a senior citizen discount, or it would be even more expensive.

Can't decide if it wants to be a wingtip or a cowboy boot or a bike shoe.
You guys wouldn't know a cut buckskin wingtip from a cordovan brogue, nor would you know Alan Flusser if you ran over him with your tricycle. -Tim- |
Ironically enough, I almost quit my job today!

Is it just some of the root, or the whole tooth that is a problem? I ask because a few years ago I had the same thing. A root that went bad under a crowned tooth. The dentist sent me to an Endodontist. They have more schooling than a regular dentist and all they do is root canals. She did the entire procedure without removing the crown. Just drilled a tiny hole in it and did all the work through it. Then a tiny filing in the hole. It cost me a MUCH less that way. Might want to check it out if its just the root.

No, unfortunately the tooth has decay and is abcessed, so it's not just a root problem. I'm having to take antibiotics prior to the work being done to stop the infection. My dentist did a root canal and crown on another tooth two months ago, and it went very well, so I trust him. This is still a lot cheaper than an implant which I had to do on a broken tooth that couldn't be saved.

Found this Bridgestone MB-4 frame in a free pile around town. Only had some disc wheels spare so I made a disc tab and brazed it on with some silver. My brazing is a bit out of practice :( Needed more flux and better heat control to wet out better. It gets the job done though. I love building ugly bikes from trash!

Today I met some pretty people playing bike polo by my apartment. Now I'm trying to figure out how to convert one of my bikes to a polo bike :p

Yeah, I considered the seatstay weakness. If it were a nicer tube set I would definitely add a support but these tubes seem like a pretty thick gauge, plus I want to conserve my silver for more projects. Thanks for the suggestion and compliment.

Those frames still ride really nicely tho. My MB3 is one of my favorite MTBs, even though it's the heaviest in my collection. |
I have noticed that this Bridgestone model bike is very popular. Can I ask why?

Today I am being lazy.

There's a joke in there about Jared the Pedo but I can't think of it at the moment.

Signed up for a century ride in Mammoth this AM -- Doing it with some old friends, should be awesome! They're a bit faster than I am though but.. oh well!
