Uhhh. Cuz steel is real?

The lugged ones are more usually more desirable than TIG'd ones.

Nice. How did you go about aligning the mount and keeping it fixed in place? What gas did you use for your torch?

The Mammoth Gran Fondo? I'm doing that too; I did it last year for the first time and it was great... super intense doing that much elevation at that altitude if you're not used to it.

Why does that look like an integrated bar/stem combo?

Yup, they have internal cable routing.

They're much too deep for CX nevertheless. Compact drops were never heard of in their time.

Alter pinup girls are nice though.

You'd have to be running '70 style CX brake levers (non-aero) to use stem cable stop anyways.

Why would you want a bar that you can't adjust for personal preference?

I had the Klein MC2 setup on my old Adroit. It sucked not having adjustments but there was just something so cool about it...maybe part of it is the fact it's something that sits right in front of you on rides so you get to actually admire it.

Kind of like owning a functional but great looking steering wheel in a car (like an old Nardi Classic).

I find this to be so true on some bikes. It can be a really cool top cap or an unusual front hub. That stem/bar combo would certainly qualify.

I love it looks-wise but the welds on the sides of the stem would make me nervous.

Probably because your personal preferences are wrong! Cinelli figured out the optimal stem and handlebar for everyone.
