Every time I leave from home on my bicycle, my legs struggle with the cranks. When I come home, my bike flies.

Today I realized I might be living in a valley.

Today my phone is blowing up with people telling me I'm famous. My friends and I are the cover image of the SFBC's latest newsletter, about Winterfest:

I'm the one in the sweet orange jacket. Pretty rad.

Dannihilator 11-10-15 06:21 PM

Today I scored a free nishiki frame from the 1980's.

May you have 100 more.

Thanks guys.

I'm contemplating my relative lack of fitness compared to August of this year as it pertains to my race performance this weekend. Nothing on the line, I'll go out and have fun, but still.

Nagrom_ 11-11-15 11:28 AM

Just saw my gastroenterologist. Scheduled an appointment for a fundoplication. Yay surgery.

Thank God I have insurance.

Muffin Man 11-11-15 01:21 PM

Went up to Mt. Hamilton this morning. Was almost correctly dressed, but my hands are still recovering. What gloves do people that have more experience in this kind of weather wear?

I wear a pair of neoprene gloves from Castelli(?) Keeps me comfortable for about 3 hours at mid 30s. Lower than that, I'll wear snowboard park gloves, not super bulky but warm enough.

Unkle Rico 11-11-15 01:33 PM

I have a hard time with gloves in cold weather simply because my hands sweat when i ride. Still lookin for something that'll work for me!

LesterOfPuppets 11-11-15 02:52 PM

I go for the thermal gripping gloves. Only $5, good down to 25° or so for me.

Today I adjusted my handlebars on the bike and went to Microcenter which is about 8 miles from home, then while I was riding back some cool dude stopped with me at a stop light and talked to me about our nice tailwind. I didn't wear any jacket and I'm savoring these little breezy jaunts. I'm NOT a cold weather person.

Unkle Rico 11-11-15 03:20 PM

Today I had the idea of painting my bianchi via a swirl painting method.. I think it would be rad but creating a tank large enough might be a little tough!

seau grateau 11-11-15 03:21 PM

You should definitely do it.

Mumonkan 11-11-15 03:25 PM

re: gloves

i live in the northeast and i ride thru winter, i still havent figured it out.

TimothyH 11-11-15 03:57 PM

I own these and have used the system on extended rides in the mid 20's. You won't regret buying these if you ride in the cold.

Assos Winter Glove System Pack | Competitive Cyclist

Assos offers three winter weather gloves: The innerGlove, the earlyWinter 851 Glove, and the lobsterShell 851 Glove. Assos gloves are made to work as a layering system -- allowing you to protect your hands from conditions varying anywhere between autumnal coolness and frightful sub-freezing madness.

Hydrodipping. I want to do so many things like this.

Today I made a considerable amount of money in tips, and was paid to ride my bike, as fast as I want and I can listen to music on my speaker. It was sunny and 60° today. Are you kidding me?

Unkle Rico 11-11-15 05:02 PM

We never kid around here. Never.

today I'm 3 weeks out of knee surgery. Took the cross bike out for a spinning session to rehab. Ended up doing far too much because I met a girl biking and we chatted whilst riding.

I would say you did just the right amount.
