Today I (v2):
Today I installed a new drive train on the road bike. I had ridden the old DT way past its life and was sick of the poor shifting, grinding and clickety clack. I'll be putting' out an extra .76 watts with the stiffer cranks!

I told myself i'd treat my self to a new ride once i got a job.. I'm torn though, there is a Velodrome close by which means a fixed gear OR a CX bike because I have a 6800 Ultegra setup in a box waiting to be installed on a sick frame

You'll get more fun out of the cx bike than the tarck bike, plenty of outdoors to enjoy and get lost in.

Today I went to Trader Joe's, remembered that somebody posted about these a while back. Can't remember who did but thank you.
Pretty good.
Pretty good.
Today I fixed a screw up by a local shop. They cut/chased an extra inch of threads on a fork and installed it on the bike.
It just didn't feel right while riding so I tore it down. First bottom bearing cage was upside down and the gasket on the fork race was being squeezed out the bottom corner of one of the cups.
Then I realize they tossed out my aluminum shim that was made the 27mm race fit TIGHT on the 26.4mm fork. The shim was perfect and you needed to use a hammer/flat head to pop it off.
With the shim thrown out, the race was basically just loose/wobbly on top of the crown....they just assembled it back together anyway.
Later I figured out my old Pista unicrown fork had a 26.4 race so I ended up using that instead. Now the steering is buttery smooth.

Shoveled out snow for today, more tomorrow. ~21" on my driveway, but with the drifting, it's hard to know.
We had tickets to see the Capitals host the Ducks yesterday. The league moved the game earlier to 5 pm. Cool, we walked to Metro but got the text that the game was *postponed*. Trains would've run late enough to make it all work out. Sigh.
