Today the new layout is strange and uncomfortable.

Remember the last time it changed? Everyone (myself included) freaked out about how crappy it was and then we got used to it and everything was right in the world again.

I still can't stand looking at this site on my phone though, so I never even bother.

The mobile version was always terrible. Chrome hasn't had any issues remembering to stay in normal view. Definitely faster tho:thumb:

Hey hey guys, I just got my new 56k modem today with some of that free month subscription of AOL!

All kidding aside, we actually downgraded a version for the forum software that BF runs on. Reason being, the hold outs actually won over the developer and this old version is the most popular out there and subsequently receives more updates than the previous newer version. It's as if windows XP ended up beating 7/8/10 and micro$oft giving up and continuing on with XP.

Benefits of going back to the old version is it receives more security updates and it's faster!

I like the way it works on my iPad in Chrome in landscape mode. No more closely spaced tiny links and having to zoom in to avoid hitting the wrong one. Also smoother and faster scrolling. No complaints here.

I wondered why it had that "classic" look to it!

Yup, it's a requirement to play those games I rattled off above. :)

I'd take the real deal over dosbox emulation anyday.

Bikes are cool.

I actually do run a (rather) old operating system on my 'puter & avoid using my phone to...errr...surf the web - so today I am quite pleased with the new-old forum format

^Please make that come true.

I notice that there is no onsite or email notification if someone quotes you. Will/can that be changed?

Thanks man. It's a super helpful feature, for me anyway.

Muffin Man 06-22-16 10:34 AM

Looks like kinda like paceline now.

Mumonkan 06-22-16 10:40 AM

lists bike for $300
receives email:

hello i would like to buy your bike but i only have 225 dollars.
sucks for you.

cali_axela 06-22-16 11:01 AM

Bought a new beater for $100, Raleigh Rush Hour with messenger cranks. Heavy as **** but comfy and fun steel, and suuuuuper ugly paint so don't have to worry about locking it up all day downtown. Pretty happy.

Nagrom_ 06-22-16 11:57 AM

This takes me back a few years.

I am not a fan.

SpeshulEd 06-22-16 12:23 PM

It'd still be super cool if this site could work with the tapatalk app.

cali_axela 06-22-16 12:24 PM

Looks kinda like every single forum we used 10 years ago. Whatevs, at least it works well and is fast again.

seau grateau 06-22-16 12:33 PM
