I developed a dang saddle sore yesterday. Friggin' fraggin rassacrassa rick rasterdly. I guess maybe the spot was already a little tender and riding a bunch in the october heat didn't help much. Maybe I should try a different chamois cremé or something though I like what I have.

@veganbikes try some A&D, i used bag balm for the longest and i got a sore, treated it with A&D and it went away in like 2 days. Then i heard from a buddy that he just uses it as a chamois cream and tried it and ill never go back, i haven't had any since
Try not to hang around in your dirty clothes after a ride either, once the sweat dries its like hot sandpaper covered in bacteria

But I'm not about to die fighting you on a chamois creme hill. I'd hand you a brand new tube of the stuff to try if we were face to face.
A&D, Bag Balm, Body Glide, Mobile1, whatever works.

Body Glide is without drama of any kind. No smell, doesn't feel like anything, doesn't stain clothes, put it on and you don't even know it is there. Just works. Literally every triathlete on the planet uses it.

Don't overthink this. Just be sure to change it often and you will be OK.
This thread should clear things up.

going to LA for the weekend with my gf to visit some fam. of hers there; they're a good bunch. young family.
On Sun I will be mountain biking with her cousin Alex, prob. Santa Monica Mtns somewhere. He's worked in the bike industry and we talk bikes more or less the whole time we're together.
On F I will clean up, stretch out and take it easy for a Sat morning ride. I'm trying to get 5 hrs of pedaling in between 6:30 and 12:00 PM (elapsed), and I think that I will be feeling really good, ready to motor for a while.

I had a cheapo fixed mini-velo myself awhile back and every time someone posts about them it rekindles my regret over selling it. Then I start shopping for another one...until I come to my senses and get over it
Mine had pretty slack geometry but still handled extremely quickly. Considering that the manufacturers need to make, what is in essence, a full-size triangle work with small wheels, I can only guess that the things are built with such weird HT angles and fork rake/trails to give them some stability. If they had headtubes & forks closer to normal bike geometry - it could be awfully hard to ride staight on one without always paying very close attention to what you are doing...

I had one of those BD mini Velos. I kept it for as long as it took me to sell it.

Today I have a flood in my house. Not nearly as bad as imagined in the initial panic but still.
Changed the guts in my toilet two weeks ago. Used a different brand and remember thinking "This piece of junk is going to leak" as I was installing it. Should have trusted my instinct and was too lazy to go back to the store.
Protip: Do not use Korky brand toilet repair kits. The tank to bowl gasket and bolts/rubber washers are inferior. Avoid disappointment and future regret - use Fluidmaster.

I cannot wear wool in addition to the ethical objections I am slightly allergic and it would reek havoc on my nether regions. Cycling Kit usually is fine though I don't often wear bibs and this was one of those times so who knows?
A&D is an interesting idea but I do really like the ease of the Chamois glide sticks however if things persist I might try that or something else. I have yet to try DZ Nuts and have heard nothing but good about it.
I really like Florasone for rashes and sores and such it works well but alas would be mucho-expensivo para el coato del huevos.

Today I climbed to the Hollywood sign. Glad I don't ever have to do that again.
