There is a subforum for this, but you need permission to access it. Message one of the admins or mods if you wish to join. Meanwhile, tread lightly with such speach here lest you get infracted.

Whatever, dude. I'm still just going to throw it in the bed of my pickup truck. I also would rather throw a dirty after ride MTB in the bed of my pickup truck than inside my car.

I heard about the impeachment in Korea as well. I'm not going to comment one way or another, but I have to say I've been loosely following it and it's nice to see that after months of peaceful protests every weekend an inquiry was made and action was taken. It's really what democracy is all about.

Despite a large dose of initial cowardice from ruling party loyalists, almost everyone finally got more or less on board with the truth and the law, and acknowledged what a disaster it would be to let such a clearly unfit president ruin the country. Still talking about Korea here, obviously. |
Today I came home and the tires of the fixed gear I picked up over the weekend off craigslist were flat. When I tried to take off the front tire it was extremely tight. When I finally got it off I find a tire, with the bead cut off, inside the k-west that was on my rim. nice surprise

Yesterday I starting wrapping my new bars (thanks Scrod!) with new tape, and those Cane Creek SCR-5c levers are just incredibly uncooperative. The hoods don't roll up, like, at all. The top you can kind force, but the bottom is like F U DUDE HAHAHAHA the rubber is attached basically to the base of the plastic. I managed to get the tape around it but it's not good. Really disappointed. Perhaps thinner tape would have helped a little, but still not being able to roll up the rubber is kinda wtf?

Not really. The best I could do was pry them up with a flat scewdriver and cram the tape under it, but I still have some bare spots. About the best you can do is to use thinner tape.
I did a crap job taping anyway, so when I replace the tape soon I'll get thinner tape. I am putting Fizik 3mm tape on, but dang it seems like 6" thick. |

that was a fun day of customer service. |
The Cane Creek hoods are thick and take a little force to fold them, but you can do it.

Last night I ate it when I hit a pothole while riding with one hand on the bars. Scraped up my left hand and leg a bit, and blew out my rear tire somehow. This morning I woke up early, still a bit sore, met some buds for a ride and did 54 miles. #HTFU.

Yesterday I put together a single speed bike. I decided to convert one of my fixed gears, which I'd previously converted from an old 12-speed.
I had most of the parts already laying around, so I just had to buy a freewheel and a brake caliper. My real reason for the change was to free up some of the parts that were on it, for use on another project. I didn't want to leave the frame unridable after the stuff came off, and I've been wanting to try single speed. Now I have one fixed, one SS, one geared road bike, and one geared mountain bike. I've already ridden it a few times, and it's a pretty fun and versatile bike. It's my first single speed (unless you count the first bike I ever owned, which had coaster brake, banana seat, ape bars... you get the picture). |
