I think it would look fine as the only point of color on an otherwise black and grey bike. I found a different place to add color, and I promise it's not garish.
today i don't remember anything about yesterday. not even posting here about getting ice cream. the surgery went well, apparently. the bottom 2 teeth had grown into my jawbone so they had to be extracted via hammer and chisel. but, my top 2 had broken out so they were relatively easy to remove so i got to keep them!

nice ride Carcosa
today was the final stage of SDSR - the crit. I didn't have the legs or the head for it today so I tailgunned it and having fun with the corners. my teammate got 3rd (!!!) and lost to a solo rider OTF for 5+ laps and the one and only Alonso Tal, who divebombed him on the last corner.
fixiekids man, why?
eventually he'll upgrade to the P/1/2 level and learn that people who do that get curbed. that kind of superman big ego riding kinda pisses me off

I've read the rest like four times and still none of it makes sense to me.

^^ That's the kind of thing that makes me not that interested in trying crits.
Today I did 32 miles, pretty chill for the most part. The road up to the observatory at Griffith is now a one-way with sharrows, which is pretty sweet compared to the cluster-**** it used to be.

Don't be. Your bike is very rad. This is my first cross bike and I have already read too many tire threads in gravel/cx on here. Any recommendations for a gumwall tire for half road, half packed gravel?

tailgunning = riding on the back of a pack, and allowing a gap to form before a corner. That way you don't have to break into it and sprint out of it like the pack, and can keep your momentum.
OTF = off the front, of a group or pack
divebomb = cutting out of a line of riders going into the corner and squeezing on the inside before the corner. its a legitmate tactic (i guess) to get good position coming out of the corner, but it forces riders wide and can cause crashes on the outside.
curbed = just what it sounds like. if a rider is constantly divebombing and one sees it coming, you can simply just close the door on him as he's trying to corner. your rear wheel crosses their front and they crash. its also kind of a dick move but in big Pro/Cat 1 crits people who ride disrespectfully often get 'curbed'
Yeah, I hear ya. They can be a lot of fun and I can be good at them (if the course suites me), but I'm beginning to become a bit risk-adverse with my racing. I may have a limited career left with road racing for this reason. Track, CX, MTB, TT are all much safer ways for me to get my competitive 'yah yahs' out

Bingo. It's beautiful in that it allows for any and all levels of seriousness/goofing off. SSCX is often looked at as somewhat of a 'joke' class of racing, but you wouldn't think that watching the guys at the front.
