I was supposed to be in Chicago today but I took the risk and booked with Spirit ($78 round trip). They cancelled today and tomorrows flights from NYC. I have a $50 voucher that I don't plan on using, not sure if its transferable but I can give it to someone on here if its possible. I'll be avoiding Spirit from now on.

I taught some preschool kids about bikes and did a 35 mile hill climb ride this evening. However all is good Choking Victim is going to be playing soon and I will be going to see them. Time for some Apple Pie and Police State : )

Today I did 30 miles. Been on a lazy streak lately, trying to break it.

TenSpeedV2 05-11-17 10:30 AM

Today I did a 10 mile round trip to the dentist, home for lunch, and then ride to work on National Bike To Work Day. So glad that the rain moved out of here rather quickly last night/early this am.

AristoNYC 05-11-17 10:40 AM

today I broke my 5 month dairy free stint, I had some white sauce on my halal lunch. Oh well.

May I ask why you're avoiding dairy? (not confrontational, just curious)

I like to try different things and see how my body reacts. If I feel better, I continue to do it, if not then I revert back. Not too sure if its placebo but I honestly feel better without dairy. The only animal things I eat are seafood & eggs.

Tonight I crashed.

Riding some XC running trails and the front tire plowed on the only patch of soft sand in North Georgia. I went OTB and both the bike and I landed in the soft leaves and pine needles. Just kinda lay there feeling humbled and after about 30 seconds I decided that nothing hurt.

The Niner just shrugged it off.

Unkle Rico 05-12-17 06:19 PM

Today I worked and now.. Roasting chicken and cauliflower for dinner :thumb:

seau grateau 05-12-17 08:45 PM

Today I sat around on my ass for a while, then did a short 22 mile ride with lots of vroom vroom. Polarization FTW. Later I'll get drunk to complete the cycle.

After fretting about it all day, I just decided that I'm doing the San Luis Rey RR tomorrow. It's a crappy race (IMO), and all of my teammates seems to be busy this weekend, so it's kind of hard to justify paying $60 for will essentially be a training ride - no way I'm coming out on top after that last climb.

It's local and the road racing scene down here has been pretty dismal lately so I feel like I should support it. Trying to do my part at least.

Today I was stopped by a driver. He wanted to talk about my rear light. Was an older guy so I wasn't really too worried so I pulled over. He kept complimenting me on it and how far away he could see it in full daylight. Cygolite HotShot Pro 150 for those interested. He was going to order one up from the shop that I work at so that is pretty cool.

That's cool that he was a friendly.

Last week I was running an Exposure Strada 1200 under under the GPS mount and a Light & Motion Vis 360+ (250 lumens) on my helmet. Was climbing a long hill and had both lights going full bore at about 11 PM.

Homeowner stepped into the road as I approached and in a perfect southern drawl said, "Whoo eee! Sure can see you a-comin'!"

I bummed someone out quite a bit. I was telling them the shop was closing and everyone needs to get home and dude was like "to see your mother for mother's day?" and I was like "no she died a while back, I am just tired and worn out"

This was a busy day that would have been better spent riding instead of slinging crap to morons. But morons help me buy bikes that I don't have enough time to ride so...

I've got the 80 model, and it's so bright that I almost blinded myself the first time I turned it on and looked straight at it. I can only imagine how bright the 150 model would be.

I feel ya man. I lost mine in 2008. Mother's Day is always rough. It never gets any easier, you just get used to it.

hay 05-15-17 11:37 AM

...I got a flat on my way to work. I had to catch a ride home and swap out bikes.
Stumpy goes to work...
