Hit the road for a while today, 52 miles, just over 3000 feet elevation. Haven't been out on a ride this long in a while. Now I'm pooped and craving watermelon.

Been so crazy busy with stuff lately -- ugh.
Finally was able to get on the bike yesterday at my "normal" gravel / dirt trail -- felt good to get some fresh air crammed down my throat

did 55mi on mr pink today. averaged 19mph. pretty flat (750' elevation gain) but feels good to get out and put the hammer down again. 2,800 of my 3,400 miles this year have been pretty chill....mostly on the riv and the space horse commuting or goofing around. only 600 so far on the mr pink. i think i need to change that.

Today I have 103,262 ft climbing for the year.
Would have been topped 100k sooner but bronchitis took me off the bike for eight weeks this winter.

Today I rode my SS to the grocery store and noticed my rear wheel rubbing the brake. Checked and it was way out of true, so I just opened the QR on the brake and finished my errands. Further inspection at home -- broken spoke. No idea how that happened.
(Yesterday) I rode 62 miles doing recon for an upcoming gravel race and managed to carry enough food (and actually eat it) to not be bonked out at the end of the ride. Success.
Also, I got notification that my new frame is FINALLY on it's way to me. NBD tomorrow (crosses fingers).

Today I caught up on SS/FG.
After spending most of July at the beach and off a bike, I put in 100 miles in a little less than a week.
Cross practice has started up at the local course and I've fit in a few laps during most rides. Getting my ass kicked by everyone's times so far and have plenty of road rash (dirt rash?) to go with it.
Swapping out to a tire with more tread and gearing down the NB will hopefully keep me upright and knock some seconds off. Fingers crossed that my bike and I will still be in one piece by the time the first race comes along.
Talk about flat! I'm only at 1500 miles for the year but up to 65,000' in elevation.
But 3,500 miles and riding every day is boss as hell.

did a fast 15 mi after work today which put me at 3,500 mi on the nose. i'm really enjoying testing the limits of the mr pink. i'm thinking carbon fork and possible carbon wheelset in the near future.

Swapped from a 17t cog to an 18t cog this morning and changed from a SRAM chain to the KMC 710SL in Gold. Not sure how I feel about the looks of the gold on my bike, but maybe it will grow on me.
The lower gear ratio was nice, especially since I've not ridden in about a week. Just got back from a Disney Cruise in the Bahamas which was a lot more stressful than relaxing with my 5 year old and 18 month old. But they had a BLAST and that's what counts!

New helmet arrived at my door today (Lazer O2). No time to ride with it yet, but seems pretty decent. Straps are kinda ehh but it fits my head well, so can't complain at the price I got it.
