Today I am frustrated.
I like simple designs, plain stuff without bold stripes, and no LOGOs. I like natural fabrics and leather goods. Brooks sent me an email introducing their new backpack. Ugh. I do not need a new backpack. I already have a perfectly good backpack. And it's $450.00, which is beyond lame. So what do I want it so badly? :o http://cdn.brooksengland.com/media/c...herblack_1.jpg |

Those straps look too narrow to be comfortable at all. It might work for very light loads, but it looks like it would be painful for anything else.
Now I can stop wanting it. :) |
Ehh, I'm really not into the Brooks backpacks.
|
Yeah, pass on that. $450?? bleh
Can't say enough things about Mission Workshop bags though -- super clean design and are robust. I found both of my bags on CL for well under $200 and don't regret the purchases at all :thumb: |
I just stumbled across this on YouTube and can't stop laughing. These ****ers.

I wish I was a Real G like "New York."

Today I called out a coworker who also rides to work. He is a supreme tool box. Dark clothes at night, headphones in, and no lights. He told me he doesn't need that because he rides so fast. Yep, as I watched him leave work.......on the sidewalk.
|
has he ever been hit by someone or hit a pedestrian himself? how long has he been riding like that???
|
3 hrs (55 mi w some climbing) at a good clip this morning, out before sunrise. Wasn't feeling it at first - stressed at work and feeling a little overwhelmed. By the end I was rompin' and a stompin' like I'm in my prime. Looking fwd to doing these dawn patrol rides at least once/week M-F while I get back in shape.

Went out for a ~30mi road ride, was a sweaty mess pretty much from start to finish. Ready for summer to end any time now.

Until today. Today was sunny with a high in the middle 60s. So damn nice. Wore a flannel. Sh** was cool. Literally. :thumb: AND. Today I hit 2,000 miles on the bike for the year, which was the goal I set last winter. |

long work day, roller coaster of emotions, but its ended well.
next week could be the most pressure I've ever felt professionally, already a bit stressed about it. I need to manage a huge ICP-MS run of blood and tissue samples (hundreds of samples) looking for gold nanoparticles with a lot riding on it, train a new intern, and fill in the product manager's shoes as he is out for the week. I'll have all the support I need in the lab but it is still going to be a bit nutty and I'll be ready for some long days, lots of pressure, and people coming at me with things needing approval or advice from all directions. All the while making myself available to show a new girl the ropes. Can't wait :twitchy: Oh and training too. I'll be staying real late so I can still train in the morning, because priorities :) |
I'm sure you'll be fine good sir. Is the new girl "hot" at least?

Did a 26-mile ride early in the day, then goldsprints later in the evening. Got beat in my first race. Just had to crush any hidden illusions I might still have had that I could maybe be a sprinter.
|
Kicked down a century today surrounding a group ride, actually went by pretty quickly at 5:30 w some climbing. I was hoping that it would take longer, but I was kinda over it by the end and ready to do something else.
|
Nice work! Probably 85% of all the century's i've done, by mile 90 I'm incredibly over it.

I struggle from about 77 - 84 ish miles. That is when I start convincing myself that I won't be able to do it, even though it isn't the first and won't be the last. After that distance is covered, the rest is a bit easier.
