Today I (v2):
Michigan actually. Wind was the cold part of the ride. Your ride looked equally as cold.

Bikes: 3 Rollfasts, 3 Schwinns, a Shelby and a Higgins Flightliner in a pear tree!
Today I rode my 50's Schwinn straightbar Red Hornet for the second time since I finsihed building her back up yesterday.
Yesterday, since I figured she was a Schwinn D-bike I named her DARLA and I finally named the 1946 Shelby Traveler Teresa/Tess.
Darla needs the seat post up just a bit more. She's Darla because she's cute and smarter than Alfalfa.

Nice job, johnny! You're an inspiration to me.
Saturday I went 53 miles on my Steamroller (riser bar, 46x17 gears). That's my longest fixed gear ride.
I really, really like that bike.

Sent a request a while ago, still nothing.
Today I had family leave town after a great weekend together. I didn't get to ride at all though so I'm looking forward to some great weather this week to make up the miles. Equal parts happy and sad that I missed yesterday's snowy, mud-fest CX race in the mountains.

I only made it to Crystal Lake and turned around and went back. I had drank 6 bottles of water by that point and I still had a massive headache. Only getting 4 hours of sleep the night before didn't help at all either.
Aw ****. You can always learn from your mistakes and try again. I had a 2 Liter Camel back and 2 bottles with me for that one. I more risked bonking because all I had to eat with a big bag dates, and I was really feeling it about an hour or so before getting to Redbox. Too bad I'm just not in that kind of shape anymore. I would die if I tried that now.

Today I woke up to lightly falling snow and an 80% chance of a wintry mix all day. Another grey day, just like yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. Different shades of grey, but grey. Started taking my Vitamin D last night again to combat the seasonal affective disorder that I suffer from. Why am I not living in Arizona?

Moving to North Carolina was a stark difference. It rules. Mid to low 70s all week and sun right now.

put in a big weekend on the bike, ~8 hrs total, starting to get back into shape. Took yesterday off, then headed out this morning for a (mostly) easy hour then to test my legs up a few short (~4-5 min) climbs.
Instead of feeling tired and sore my legs were alive, and ready for an action. Smashed one of them (Presidio) at a power I might aim for during an interval when I was in top form back in July, great sign.
I'm stoked to get up early tomorrow for 3 hrs before work, on the road by 5:30. Let's do this!

Fire has always symbolized the Holy Spirit.
The idea of the "Church on fire with the Holy Spirit" is very ancient.
