Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I wore my hair up in a pony tail + a hat to keep it from coming loose, my old helmet still kind of fits me but not as well as I'd like.

Just bought two more LG bib shorts from nashbar. In addition to the 50% off msrp discount, there is also another 21% discount today. So, total price including Texas sales tax was $85.50 or $42.75 each, which is a great price for this quality garment. Now that we're heading into the main riding season, it's nice to not have to constantly be washing cycling clothing.

I got one of those Magellan Cyclo 315 HRs for pretty cheap. My plan is to use it mostly for touring and directions at other times. I don't know what I am going to do with all the HR goodies but I guesS I could start doing some training and get my fat arse into better shape.

A new helmet. Bell Volt XC for 59.99 + tax from nashbar. Last time I bought one of these helmets was over ten years ago from my LBS, and it cost something like $130 IIRC. I like the visor to keep the sun out of my face. I've also got a spare unused set of pads for this helmet.

Oh, and I've taken a ride in the LG bib shorts, and they're the best I've ever had. Super good fit and great Coolmax chamois. The additional two pairs I bought should arrive by tomorrow. They're now out of stock in my size (medium), and am really glad I got them.

With my road build in progress, ordered some Bruce Gordon Rock 'n' Roads for the Space Horse, as it transitions into a full time monster dirt/townie tourer bike. Not many more group road rides in its future.

Gumwalls, obvi.

Bicycle tubes. The LBS shop had a buy 3 get one free deal... so I picked up 4. Then I repaired two old tubes I had. Those six... plus the three I have in three separate saddle bags... should last a while.

The LG PF bibs are currently my faves. Hard to beat for the price. I've got a new kit coming and there's a slight chance the bibs could turn out to be better. Stand by for a report.

Two SRAM PC-7X 1/8" chains for $27.90 total. This is a great chain at a very good price, not to be confused with the crappy PC-1.

Love it. I've been thinking about building up a bike around some handlebars.

purchased aventon's push wheelset and a new chainwhip. trying to keep my bike up and running while i take my time and see if i can fix up my current wheels, so far 2 separate shops basically said they can't be fixed/not worth fixing but rims are true and i feel like they only need new bearings/axles

Someone else that gets it!

This fork was less new than I paid for the used (straight steer) ENVE canti fork I put on the Zona. How could I resist? I'll probably get something custom whipped up next year.

That fork is the bomb. Had it for a year on a Felt F1X and it made for noise-free braking with both basic Cantis and TRP Mini-Vs (8.4 & 9s).
