Now that the shoulder doc will let me ride (on the bike path only ) I've been out a few times this week.

The sun was out when I left for the bike path today. As soon as I got the bike off the trunk rack the clouds rolled in. But I didn't mind. I was riding outside. Can't wait until the doc says I can ride anywhere so I won't have to do loops on the path. I see him again May 4.

Three months off the bike (other than when I'd torture myself with boredom on the trainer) sure makes the legs weak. And trying to ride hard makes the lungs burn.
But not long till I'm back to my old self --- I hope.

26 miles in some nasty headwinds on the return trip from Eddings Point. Someone tried to steal myh bike when I made a stop at a convenience store, but I had opened the rear QR which caused the rear wheel to jam.

Just starting a new commute. 10.7 miles one way. Change in commuter shuttle bus system is closing down my usual start location. I plan to start riding all the way into work everyday. First ride today was not bad. Will see what the work day is like having added all the exercise to the regimen. So far so good.

I really like the Gainesville-Hawthorne trail, one of my favorite places to ride. Out of the wind and FL sun with hardly any traffic to worry about. I used to ride there a lot a few years ago. I like the new non-paved trails that they have added too. I have been biking with the son of a friend of mine, I let him ride my mountain bike, so when he wants to take a rest i'll ride my mountain bike on the non paved trails... Kind of fun riding both the road bike and then the mountain bike. Trying to get back into riding again after about 8 months or so of hardly any riding <sigh>.

Anyway .... yep rode today 17 miles today.... and 24 yesterday.
