Nice ride! How is 178 coming up from SC? Is it a busy road?

Bikes: Trek Madone 4.5

Winds NESW @ 15mph gusting to 30. It was all I could do to knock out 8 miles today. Seemed as if I was riding into a headwind no matter which way I rode.

Think I need to ingest a few more Carbs before I ride. I was about out of gas when I finished.

3/25, 20.76 mi. today. I seem to be hung up on just doing 20 miles per ride as of late. Ran into a friend today that I have ridden with some, he had just purchased a new Trek Pro 5.2. I have had trouble keeping up with him in the past now I guess it is out of the question. That sure is a nice bike. road with him for about 7 miles and that was enough, I let him go...or did he drop me? Anyway 491.9 mi for the month 1294 mile YTD 09.

Rode with my diehard riding buddy Larry for 32 miles today in 12 mph winds. At least it wasn't cold. Wind was out of the south so we tried to go east then west but couldn't stay out of it.

26.48 miles along Lake Okeechobee in the 5th Annual Okeechobee Rotary LOST (Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail) ride. 15 mph wind mostly from the S and SE made parts of the ride very challenging to say the least. Additionally, this was my first time back on the bike after a serious accident last weekend, where I slammed into a gate and had to be medivac'd to the Trauma Center in Ft. Myers. It was good to get back on my Catrike and do some miles after a week of healing up!

Glad to see you well, but I've got to ask, how pray tell did you sllam into a gate? Those Catrkes look cool, fun ride I take it.

Yesterday, I took my new Performance Tour/fixie/commuter bike to work, got a late start time and went to meet up the the lbs guys. They ride past my house so I can meet them and drop off, which is exactly what I did.

I only rode a total of about 30 mins. or so, the guys were doing like 20 on race bikes and here I was on a fixed, lightly loaded steel tourer hanging with them, for a little while. Sure would have loved a picture of my turn at the front, spinning nearly 100 rpms with five roadies in tow.

Tour de Ranch Metric Century. Only 12 or so did the Metric. The rest of the world knew we would be pelted with heavy rain, hail and harrassed with wind and lightning. I looked back once to see where my ridemate was and didn't see him. He had been blown off the bike by the wind.

Idiots all...

Rains finally stopped and the sky's cleared for a beautiful sunny day. Had to dig back out the winter clothes as it was 47 degrees and windy. Had a good solo ride of 43 miles. Felt good to get back on the bike.

Road the West Orange Trail with my daughter. We stopped in Winter Garden for some lunch and a cold beer. The Trail was wet and sloppy going out but the sun came out and dried things off pretty good. The bikes sure are a mess so they will get a good cleaning tomorrow so no ride on monday for me.

Todays ride 32.87 miles
Miles this month 597.42
Miles this year 1400.28

Ride Everyday

Well when I was 23 years old and racing, I was doing around 30 miles a day. I could get in the time since all I did was go to a University, take classes then study. 20 years later after retiring from the Air Force, I now do what I dreamed of when I was younger. I get up around 9AM, then ride for 30 miles and come home eat breakfast, take a shower. It's really nice taking your time and not worrying about rushing off to work in the early AM and leaving around 9AM, I miss the traffic.

Yep, got the rain now, still, been all day, likely not to stop 'till sat and start again on sun.

Did some 15 mi in the rain playing tourer/commuter with my new Jandd handlebar bag. Had to pick up paycheck, go to back and order parts @ lbs.

Can't work in the rain so I might as well ride.
