It has been flooding down here. Over 11 inches since last Thursday. No lie! I got in a quick 28 solo miles Wednesday and started a light rain again about a mile from my home. Riding in the rain isn't too bad it's cleaning and lubing the bike back up that sucks.

Did a 45-mile ride today after a 54-mile ride yesterday. Trying to get in those higher mileage rides while it isn't raining. This weekend was nice and sunny. I'm also trying to get better prepared for a hilly metric in about four weeks.

Finally got caught in the rain today. Half the ride was wet pouring rain. Shoes need to have drain holes in them. We got in 38 miles. One of our riders lost his rear wheel on a blind hill. We thought he was through. Luck was on his side (he is 73) no cars came over the hill. His quick release was loose.

A whopping 12 miles on the tandem Saturday, (my wife got sick), and 35 on my single on Sunday. Hot, windy, metro riding. Could've used some rain to cool it down!

I agree, what wind during the second half of a 17 miler.
Took the wife and my friend from thomasville, ga on my little hour loop. We ave'd nearly 11 mph and that took some effort at times. Proud of the wife though, might be able to get her out more.
Played with my new phone before the real wind...

My friend going up, and my wife getting a drink before tackling the bridge's new narrow MUP.
Hope they make more improvements.

I definitely rode today, since I got myself a wondrous new toy (a Bianchi Pista fixed gear track bike, which I had fitted with a front brake). My first twenty minutes on the bike made me doubt that I'd ever really master it. I had repeated near falls. Sometime during the second twenty minutes I got used to the fact that all the circumstances one habitually coasts on a road bike (and there are an amazing number of those I discovered) just have to be met with modified behavior (always involving the admonition "Just keep pedaling you idiot!!!!"). After about an hour of cycling I was comfortable with it, and started really playing around with the advantages of fixed gearing. I started cycling really slowly like a track racer does before the sprints, nearly did a track stand (I need a bit more work, but at least I didn't fall over). Finally I starting trying to not depend on the brake as much, and to do most of my deceleration by controlling the pedaling (I'm not ready for a skid stop). Then I tried riding really fast (so I could learn to control the stops).
Overall I rode for about three hours.

Did a solo ride today. Wind was less than it was and warmed up nicely. 28 miles avg 15 mph. Fought the wind going out and had it on my back coming in. That was nice. Thomasville GA is real close to me.

I had a late start for work yesterday so I went for my little 16-17 mile loop.
Passed the lbs guys on there way out for a 20+ out-n-back while going in the other direction.
Nearly an hour later they caught up to me on the return route.
Lbs riders ave 18-20, and I did close to 17 with my commuter loaded bike (handlebar and trunk bags).
Off early today and I'm waiting to hear from a friend about a ride.
He'd better call, I was up 'till 2am trying to fix up a SS for him to ride.

Well I wimped out on the second ride last night but I did get out today. It must have been bent day on the trail as I passed about 20 of them over the course of my ride. Those people really seem to enjoy there group. I road along with one guy and his wife on a tandem for a while and I asked him about how much he had paid for his ride. His answer was $7k...I almost ran off the trail. I could own 7 bikes for that much money.
