Had to take mom and sister to G.Ville today. So rode the G.ville Hawthorne trail back to Hawthorne (on the road bike today). 16.2 miles all total I believe. The wind was something else today... Felt kind of BAD on the bike the first half of the ride (the hilly part). Was not comfortable & legs felt like led. Second half I felt really good.. even into the wind.. Overall a nice ride... perfect temp.... didn't like the swarms of gnats in some areas though.. DOH!!

Got a short ride in today on the MTB with the basket on it. Post office & to the bank. About 7.5 miles I think. Still pretty windy out there today.

Nope, but including sunday's 70 miles I already have 200 miles on my legs this week (including 60 on weds) and still have around 50+ miles to go for the next 2 days. And then there is sunday all over again.

Yes, now that tax season is over I should be able to get out more. Rode about 13 miles on the road bikes on the north end of the Withlachochee. A little windy but overall a nice ride.

yes I did ride today. 41 miles on Silver Comet. was nice not terribly crowded once I got out beyond the close in traffic. was nice. I really need to get on that earlier in the day to avoid the rush.

I tried to ride today......... Was going to try a new stretch of trail up by keystone heights today. Parked got my bike shoes on, gloves on ect... Went to get my front wheel out to put on the bike.... Flat tire... valve stem coming loose on the tube.... Presta type valve that nobody in the little town has. And no extra tube with me..... DOH!! Tomorrow is another day.... and another try...

Did an inaugural ride of 35 miles on my new saddle today. What a change from the old one. Somehow my average speed was higher than usual too.

Sunday, April 18th - rode the mbs for almost 2 hours on the Santos trail. Seems to be getting easier. I guess hubby was right...it just takes time. The fear factor does not seem to be as high. Beautiful scenery....if you have time to look. lol

April 18/19 no ride, took rest days and weather was not so hot.

April 20, 41 miles today, it was another great Florida day, partly cloudy 70/78* weather, and no wind to deal with. I was riding north on International Parkway and I looked to my right and there stood a female Peacock in all of her glory. About 20 yards down the road I saw the male, boy were they beautiful.

Finally got out again yesterday and then again today after almost a month off the bike. The last couple months have been one thing after another! I was sick, my dog was sick, weather, work and a trip to New Jersey kept me off the bike. I haven't even had time to read the forums. Yesterday I finally decided to bag work for a couple of hours and go for a ride. I got out around 1 and shortly found out it was too hot for my tastes. I managed my usual 22.4 miles though.

Today I was trying to get out around 10, but got tied up trying to finish a long overdue drawing and didn't make it out until almost noon. Still not early enough as it was hotter today than yesterday. I made it the 22 miles, but was starting to wear out on the way home. I've gained some weight and am really out of shape now! I am going to have to switch to my summer hours and ride first thing in the morning, before working.

I don't know if I'll make it out tomorrow, but I'll give it a shot!

yes, a little over 23 miles on the Gainesville/Hawthorne trail. Started at the Bowlware trail head and decided we'd try turning right and heading into Gainesville. Discovered that that trail only goes a mile or so and dead ends. Turned around and headed towards Hawthorne. Only got to about mile marker 9 and turned around. It was getting hot and we were both hungry. Stopped for lunch in Micanopy at Pearl's BBQ. Nice day. I think tomorrow we will take out the mbs and ride somewhere. Not sure where yet.

Went for a little century ride today, 106 miles in 5:08 @ 20.5 mph.

Yes, late this afternoon did a quick 10+ miles on the Withlachochee just before sunset. I needed that after being sick for the last few days.

I did 13 miles yesterday and 20 miles today. The wind has really been howling! Missed you again Linda, I rode in the morning before it got too hot. I won't be able to ride the next couple days as I have dentist appointments in the morning. Maybe I'll get out again on Friday.

The wind finally died down a little so I went out for a short 30 miler. Seems the folks at the Weather Channel can't measure wind speed. They said winds would be 5-1o mph. Seemed like I was riding into a headwind or a crosswind (of a lot more than 5-10 mph ) for the entire ride. When I got home I was whipped. But at least I got in a good ride.

Boatdesigner...one of these days we will run into each other....hopefully just literally. ;-)
