Hammock Trail In Sebring Florida

The Hammock Road Trail parallels its namesake from Highlands Hammock State Park to Lake Jackson, allowing Sebring residents easy access between two of the city's natural treasures. This is a 3.7 mile paved trail. Access is at the corner of CR 635 and CR 634. This trail is also across the street from Highlands Hammock State Park. I ran out of time and did ride the entire trail, but other bikers told me this trail goes to or close to downtown Sebring. The trail is very nice, and access to the park at he end of the trail (Highlands Hammock State Park) is inexpensive. Inside the park is a nice loop road through the Hammock and a CCC museum that is worth visiting.

A word of caution however, there are a lot of 'at grade' crossing on the trail, and a member of our local bike club was struck by a woman in a car while riding his Catrike along the trail and nearly killed. He still suffers some effects from the trauma, so keep your eyes open when crossing the driveways and roads that cross this trail.

I start every ride with this trail because I live off Hammock Road so every ride begins and ends with this trail. But Tom is right about being cautious the occasional car crossing the trail is a problem

Thanks for the input here Red. I'm really looking forward to finishing the rest of the trail ride. Enjoy. https://www.trailviewmount.com

I finally rode the rest of Hammock Trail in Sebring Florida. The scenic trail beginning quickly becomes sidewalk along the noisy and busy Hammock Road and ends at congested Highway 27. A 2.65 mile trip one way. Very dangerous crossing 27 to ride along Lake Jackson. https://www.trailviewmount.com
