I know there are plenty of you out there that hail from the Sunshine State.

I'm looking for folks in Florida to meet up with in February. My plans for this year include racing in the HPRA events as well as the Sebring 24 Hour Race. I have a week in between to soak up as much of Florida riding as possible. I'd love to meet / ride with as many folks as I can. Also, if anyone lives near either of the events and wouldn't mind hosting me and the missus for a day or two, it would be great to save some money and meet some more folks.

The first event is Sebring - February 18th & 19th - near Sebring, FL (obviously)

The second event is the HPRA - February 25th & 26th - in Pembroke Pines, FL (near Hollywood / Ft. Lauderdale area)

In between, (February 20th - 24th), I will be looking for additional rides.

Please post if you think you might be available during that time or if you have some ideas of must-see places to ride. And if you think you might be able to host my wife and I, please PM me at let me know.

Thanks everyone - hope to hear from some of you between now and then!

Well, I'm riding my bike in Florida but really can't help you out much as I'm in Tampa - the other coast from where you'll be. Also, your free time is during the week and I'll be working.

I'll be in FL in Feb (Hernando) but I don't race. I'm 67 and will be there to ride my Litespeed in the sunshine and warmer temps. The rain or cold or wind has me indoor too much. Can't wait to get there. It's currently 29 degrees here. It might make it up to 60 by mid-afternoon.

If you have any interest in riding Critical Mass, there will be three in South Florida on the 24th: West Palm beach - very small group, laid back. Ft Lauderdale - 30-80 cyclists, about 18 miles, very friendly ride. Miami - arounc 15 miles, huge group 80-300 cyclists, a bit chaotic but a fun group.

I'll be in Ft Lauderdale if you want to meet up.

I might have to check that out. I'll be near Ft. Lauderdale over one of the weekends.
