Hi,

You couldn't have done better! See my bike photos to see why. :)

Anyone who doesn't like Bianchi Celeste, well...

Bianchi and Campy go together like...well, you know. :D Enjoy it!

Cleave, I totally agree with Bianchi + Campy. This is my 4th Bianchi, all Campy (except the Pista). However, this is my first Celeste, I didn't used to like it all that much, me being much more subdued and all. But I have to say, I have started to like it.

Celeste is awesome - and I like that 928 so much. IMHO, not a big fan of the curved downtube look of the 928 C2C's this year. And Campy is the way to go, especially on that rig! Can't wait to see it in person! What size is it? ;)

It is a 53. It is a 2006 928 with 2007 Chorus. The wheels are Open Pro with Record hubs. FAS K-Wing bars. All of that is preferred by me to the stock and it showed up that way on eBay, brand new.

The one possible downside for me is it has a standard (39 53) crank. I think I would prefer a CT. I still have not decided what to do about that.

[edit] I just looked at the 2007 C2C 928, I agree with you, blech. The 928 HOC's are straight.

Yes, I did notice! If we ever end up at the same ride, I just might have to "borrow" her when she's separated from her rider. :D

Jim - glad you went w/ the '07 Chorus - heard great things about the UT cranks, and have had nothing but positives to say about my groupset. I think in order to switch to CT, you would need the crankset and FD - and you can probably unload the standard crank/FD at not too bad of a loss. Check out GVH bikes online as Tom offers tremendously great pricing and excellent service.

Man, looking at that bike more and more makes me want a celeste bianchi as a next bike . . .

Thanks Luwin for the heads-up. I may give Tom a call and see what he has. I have dealt with him in the past, great guy.

This is my first set with the QS. The front throw is sure a lot less than my old Centaur. I used to nearly dislocate my wrist getting that to shift to the large ring. Talking with Happyttime today, she has the same problem with her current Shimano. She is also getting the Chorus QS so she should see some big improvement.

[edit] from gvhbikes.com
GVH will be closed for 3 weeks in June. Tom will be away from June 4 to 21. Phone messages and emails will be returned as soon as possible after I return
I will be travelling to Europe to race in the TransPortugal mountain bike race. It's an 8 day stage race covering 1000 km. There will be daily updates during the race on the website and I'll put my story here when I get back.

Hey now... you are supposed to let me go on thinking that my 5-year old Chorus is as good as it gets. I don't need any more temptations to upgrade!

I was just exaggerating to justify my purchase. Truth is the old stuff works better than the new.

Ok, so are we square?

Don't you lose FD trimming with the new QS system? How is that?

I have only ridden it around the block to get the saddle position dialed in and wasn't paying attention to the shifting so much. I did not notice any FD rub on the large ring while shifting through the cog range. I assume I was able to subconsciencely trim. I will specifically check that issue on today's ride.

That's what George thought. I have never been concerned with weight but I think I am going to try and keep the large luggage off this one. Maybe I will pull a trailer instead :D

Scootcore 06-04-07 10:15 AM

makes sense to me!!!!! and in the end does the weight really make any difference********** other than mental of course!!

Why would we want a picture of the little yellow smiley?
