The 50/11 combo was great on the downhills, I could pedal with resistance up to 33-35 mph or so. If you're considering it, I recommend it.

Thanks for the review. Your DA derailleur is a short arm (don't even know if they make anything else)?
It's good to hear that all's well with that combo. I've mostly heard third-hand chatter about the compatibility of SRAM and also the workability of a 28 with Shimano, so it's good to hear a reliable second-hand report that the cassette and 28 cog work well.

There is a long arm DA derailleur for the triple crank group (still only 'rated' to 27 cogs), mine is the short version though.

Just scored (well on Sat, but I didn't have my laptop with during drill this past weekend) a Campy record crank for.....ready....$20! :D Of course, I had to buy a bb to go with it, and of course the bb was twice as much as I got the crank for! :roflmao: Anyhoo...pics...

....and that's what I got for my total of $60. The nice thing is that this will bring me up to ALL campy on my bike...with one exception which is the headset, but I'm on the lookout for a campy one ;) Cheers!

For my jersey pocket. Steiner Predator pocket binoculars. I own several pairs of binoculars but they're all too heavy and bulky for cycling. This would be perfect for those mountain rides and rides up to the Griffth Observatory. I can see the observatory from my house but can never spot my house from the observatory with my naked eyes.

Happytime 09-10-07 08:04 PM

Looks like JAX.

Wait for it... wait for it...

:D

If it's an '07, I believe the only Soloist in that color is the Soloist Carbon SL. Is it a 54 cm? If so, you'd better watch your bike really carefully on group rides. :p

No. Lot's of us ride 56.

StrangeWill 09-11-07 12:24 AM

I ordered a crankset, I want it badly, currently using a 43/??(can't even use) for hill climbing is no fun for a weak beginner like me. :( Woot for a compact. :)

Should be here tomorrow, so I can ride around town and do a few things.

Although I already have perfectly bright & functional Cygolite LED headlight, I've been thinking of getting a new LED headlight. This time I want one with a Li-Ion battery.

...knee and/or arm warmers? Did you get the full kit? I'd rock it like John Paul Jones.

Anyone got any ideas for bike stuff I can request for my birthday in the $200-$300 range?
