Remember me? We did that ride around BackBay with... Rick? was it? Anyway, I just picked up a track bike this summer! We should have a redux but with fixies! That would be loads of fun!

Got myself a bottle of hammer espresso gels for the ride tomorrow; as well as Craft Siberian full-finger gloves (on sale) for the upcoming "winter". Sometimes I wonder whether aligning my SoCal winter bike clothing based on my Stagecoach century experience is such a wise decision. :p

Since my car needed new tires and I felt a little guilty for ignoring it in all my bike hoopla and excitement this past year, I took the chance to upgrade and got a set of these for it -

for sure, dude. his name was mark, and i guess that dude was pretty sketchy. there was a big sh*t-talking thread about him and how he stole some internet domain or something, i dunno. but yea, you should come to some midnight ridazz rides or critical mass sometime. they are a blast. what bike did you get?

Tiffanie 09-24-07 07:56 PM

I need a jacket. Warm but light and breathable. Any suggestions?

Very cute Drew. :p

Now, this isn't helping me one bit!

Scootcore 09-24-07 08:27 PM

alot of guys swear by the PI optik....i dont have one myself, but its been spoken of well.

GP 09-24-07 08:28 PM

I'm serious. If it gets too cold for arm warmers and an Optik jacket, I'm staying home.

I have an Optik... I like it but it's not breathable. I'm either too hot with it zipped or too cold. :o I'm a cold wimp since Stagecoach!

Stagecoach has changed our lives forever!

REI-outlet has Sugoi inverter jacket for $70 (too bad their 20% sale is over)... but that may be too hot.

That's for sure!!
I'll check it out... thanks Dave. :)

I bought 2 vests last season and I like them both. PI Optik vest and a Gore Bikewear Helium vest. I tend to burn up in full jackets, even the light ones like the Optik which I also have.

Drew12 09-24-07 09:17 PM

Just purchased ( on steap and Cheap) a pair of Oakley Mtb shorts, $27 with shipping!
Their "Burnt Orange" which is probably why they cost $20 instead of $80....
I need a pair, and the price is right.....
Now if they arrive in time I'll be sporting a pair of new shorts this weekend!

SCORE!!

Does anyone have the Coppi/Anquetil DVD that World Cycling (and others) sells? I'd love to borrow a copy... or I'd even buy it from WCP if someone told me it was fantastic.

OK,
It's fantastic..
Feel better now?

( never heard of Coppi/Anquetil, but if it makes him feel better.. )

Indolent58 09-26-07 04:07 PM

IMO no windproof jackey is truly breathable enough to avoid sweating and burning up.

Layers with a vest is the way to go. At the Stagecoach I wore a long sleeve base layer, short sleeve jersey and a vest. I was as warm as anyone could be under the circumstances.

Silliest purchase ever. $15 for a titanium recessed brake nut. I needed a longer nut to mount my brakes to a carbon fork - and this was all the LBS had. I wasn't willing to go driving around to find a steel one.

Who would go out of their way to buy stupid %$@# like this? How much weight could it possibly save? 1 gram?

Mo'Phat 09-26-07 09:53 PM

I used to have a couple of nuts you could borrow....they were brass, though.

Nice nuts, D.
