Got myself a bottle of hammer espresso gels for the ride tomorrow; as well as Craft Siberian full-finger gloves (on sale) for the upcoming "winter". Sometimes I wonder whether aligning my SoCal winter bike clothing based on my Stagecoach century experience is such a wise decision.

Since my car needed new tires and I felt a little guilty for ignoring it in all my bike hoopla and excitement this past year, I took the chance to upgrade and got a set of these for it -

I'm serious. If it gets too cold for arm warmers and an Optik jacket, I'm staying home.

I have an Optik... I like it but it's not breathable. I'm either too hot with it zipped or too cold. I'm a cold wimp since Stagecoach!

Stagecoach has changed our lives forever!

REI-outlet has Sugoi inverter jacket for $70 (too bad their 20% sale is over)... but that may be too hot.

I bought 2 vests last season and I like them both. PI Optik vest and a Gore Bikewear Helium vest. I tend to burn up in full jackets, even the light ones like the Optik which I also have.

Just purchased ( on steap and Cheap) a pair of Oakley Mtb shorts, $27 with shipping!
Their "Burnt Orange" which is probably why they cost $20 instead of $80....
I need a pair, and the price is right.....
Now if they arrive in time I'll be sporting a pair of new shorts this weekend!

SCORE!!

Does anyone have the Coppi/Anquetil DVD that World Cycling (and others) sells? I'd love to borrow a copy... or I'd even buy it from WCP if someone told me it was fantastic.

IMO no windproof jackey is truly breathable enough to avoid sweating and burning up.

Layers with a vest is the way to go. At the Stagecoach I wore a long sleeve base layer, short sleeve jersey and a vest. I was as warm as anyone could be under the circumstances.

Silliest purchase ever. $15 for a titanium recessed brake nut. I needed a longer nut to mount my brakes to a carbon fork - and this was all the LBS had. I wasn't willing to go driving around to find a steel one.

Who would go out of their way to buy stupid %$@# like this? How much weight could it possibly save? 1 gram?

I used to have a couple of nuts you could borrow....they were brass, though.

Nice nuts, D.
