I don't buy all the SAC stuff, Drew, I just FYI it here in case anyone is looking for a good deal. Lookin' out for the BF peeps! ;)

It's not true. Happytime compulsively buys at least one of everything that SAC offers up. Ask her how many pairs of snowshoes she has.

Oh, Dan

They're not snowshoes. They're crampons. And a gal can't have too many crampons!

Stay away from my Reef sandals and utility knives, too.

VanceMac 02-07-08 07:45 PM

She's keeping an eye out for that annual SAC event: "Half-price on half-sized Pinarellos".

Happytime 02-07-08 08:14 PM

It could happen!

I ordered a pair of Rudy Project glasses through my team. I started with the Ekynox SX, and I was extremely pleased with them. But the full frame limited peripheral vision:

So I sent them back asking for an exchange. After a quick turnaround, today I received a pair of blade-style Rydons. I think I have found the perfect cycling glasses for me. Features, fit, quality, size -- all perfect.

I got the Rydon II (small faces). Been very happy with them so far.

what doesn't it do?

paul_858 02-07-08 09:03 PM

it's not the newer swing-away rack, so they stopped producing the snowboard/ski adapter for it. I want a bike rack and be able to also carry skis/snowboards.

I like the Rydon but will likely go with Kerosene for my RX lens.

I am really looking forward to the install tomorrow ;)
I tried Force (when it came out), and did not like it at all.. After reading much about Red, and how it received such great reviews, I figured I give it a shot. I have to say, it won me over hands down!
Loving the Fizik bar tape as well

What didn't you like about Force. I have both so I can give you a comparison. I will way that it is a little cripser but otherwise doesn't feel a whole lot different. Same hood shape, similar lever shape, same general operation. The biggest functional differences are the big ring trim (which is nice) and the shorter front throw (very, very nice). Did you get the fuzzy-texture black fizik bar:tape? I found that it was difficult to wrap it without the edges being somewhat lose. I never had that problem with the red tape.

Gretzky 02-09-08 08:02 PM

Being used the my D-A set up, I did not feel Force shifted nearly as crisp. I love that "clack" D-A is famous for. I also felt the cassette left much to be desired. I didn't care for the chatter when shifting. And to be completely honest, I wasn't sold on the double tap.
Now for what sold me on Red. First, the hoods fit my hands perfectly, and the hidden cables are a bonus. The Red Rear Derailleur really impressed me, where Force did not. I got my "clack", and it never seems to miss a donkey shift  I was told to give it two rides, and it didn't even take that. The weight weenie in me likes that fact that it is lighter, and extra bonus points for the sexy factor
I did indeed get the fuzzy texture tape (non gel) and have not had any problems with the edges, as I like my bar tape wrapped tight :)

Gretzky 02-09-08 08:04 PM

Oh, I almost forgot. I like the 11-26 gear ratio that Sram offers, where with my D-A set up I had to remove the 16 cog, and add an 11 :(
Although I have been told there will be a 11-26 D-A cassette for 09

DaveSANYYZ 02-09-08 08:54 PM

Deda shallow 40cm. This will replace one of my Ritchey WCS anatomic 40cm. For some reason, the "bump" of the anatomic causes pain on my palm when I'm in the drops for a while. Hopefully, this one will be better. :)

Another +ve, just happens my bike fitter told me I need to shorten my reach. This will be perfect. :D
