Finally! Paid the remainder for the IRO Rob Roy frameset group buy. :D I ordered 2 frames, one for me and one for my brother-in-law. It was supposed to be a christmas gift but didn't show up in time...
Hopefully i'll have it done for cyclocross season later this year. SS/FG cyclocross here i come! :) |
I paid for my Rob Roy too. The main reason I wanted it is I want to put a rack on my errand bike. The Bowery has no brazons, and seatpost racks really suck.
I also bought a workstand with my REI dividend + 20% off. Now, I waits. |

Lamest excuse ever for buying a new bike  My LBS had a bucket of rack clamps used for bikes without braze-ons. They gave me a couple for free.

Performance has ultra bibs on sale for $45. I'm gonna grab me one.

I've already made them.. Except when the dealer gives you the Shimano take offs make sure they bag them or box them up. You wouldn't want to touch any of that stuff.

I recently added this mirror to my bike. It's gives me a little more sense of security as I rider around these crazy drivers. I love it because it's stealth, doesn't vibrate and light. It really helps.

What would be the difference in any between tri bibs and road bibs?
What can I say? I don't get out much. Kurt Kinetic Pro Road trainer to replace a Performance Century Fluid (anyone wanna buy it?) and Spinervals 11,14,17,20,21,22,23 and 25. http://www.dubbayoo.net/files/pics/c...netic-dvds.jpg |

Just spent my tax rebate on clothes from Rapha. Lightweight softshell jacket, wool jersey with matching arm warmers, socks, cap, bib knickers, & a wool undershirt. All I can say is that high quality is worth it. Fit is perfect.

Major: A Black Athlete, a White Era, and the Fight to Be the World's Fastest Human Being (Hardcover) by Todd Balf First edition: Crown, February 26, 2008 320 pages From Publishers Weekly According to Balf, at the turn of the century the invention of the bicycle democratized transport. But as Balf also points out, despite the bicycle's ability to break down society's social structure, it couldn't make the prejudiced world of segregation, lynching and Jim Crow disappear. This new biography chronicles the life of the unlikeliest of stars in the early years of cycling: Marshall Major Taylor. Taylor was an incomparable athlete, poet and celebrity, but he was also a black man living during a time when the scars of the Civil War and slavery were still fresh in the minds of Americans. Balf, who writes for Men's Journal, does great work presenting the complex nature of Taylor's life, including his up-bringing in poverty in Indianapolis, the years he was treated as a son by a rich white family, the fans who both worshipped and vilified him and his close relationships with his white trainer and promoter. Much of the book revolves around Taylor's rivalry with the pugnacious, bigoted Floyd McFarland to be the fastest rider in the world, with their stirring final battle in Australia serving as the book's inspiring climax. Balf's prose is both evocative and informative, as can be seen in his description of the feeling one gets on one's first bike ride: the moment when doubt and fear release in a simple, fundamental expression of emotions. Despite all the injustices, injuries and obstacles he faced, Taylor never lost that feeling and that's what makes this a truly engaging narrative. |
Just picked up a new stem. The current stem was a 90 and felt a bit short so this is a 100.

I just finished my first ride with them and they fit 100% better than my current Shimano ones do. Actually, I think today was the first time in 2000 miles that I have felt comfortable on my bike. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...s/DSCF0821.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...s/DSCF0822.jpg Cheers Rob |
