What would be the difference in any between tri bibs and road bibs?

Says the guy with the stem that touches the ceiling.

Good looking ride. What size tire can the front accommodate? Assuming at least 35c and you're ever looking to change out, props to Schwalbe's Racing Ralph.

iamtim 02-29-08 09:54 PM

OK, that's not my actual ride; that's the shot from the Lemond site. I don't have pics of mine because of that horrible monstrosity called "work" that keeps me from "biking out" all day long.

Indolent58: my "cockpit" needs a little work. The stem on mine is a wee long and too high; there's like... 42,000 spacers on it. The bars are also 46cm and I normally run 44s. I'm not sure how it will end up, but some "improvements" are certainly in the works.

alicestrong: You have no idea. :) I moved my Park stand inside last night so it didn't have to sleep in the garage with the others.

Tumbleweed: I'm not exactly sure, but really really big. :) I had no problem reaching my fingers in and around the tire to clean the fork after tonight's inaugural ride.

Tri shorts will have a thinner pad than bike shorts so as to dry faster once out of the water, and also not get in the way while running. But the DeSoto 400 mile bibs are 100% bike short with a VERY nice pad (pro triathletes like Emilio DeSoto spend a lot of time on the bike and want comfort too!). I like these better than the high-end ($200+) Pearl Izumi's I have. This is my 3rd pair of DeSoto's - the first is too big now that I have lost some weight. Decided to get the graphite since I already have the black :)

Oh, now that's purty. I love the blue!

Congrats, on your soon to be delivery of a baby girl.

The guys at the LBS told me the Pinarellos are running a little big, so they're not going to hold me to it if the bike doesn't match up to the paper measurements. Hard to get a full refund on a special order Pinarello, so I'm glad they offered.

Anyone interested in a "take off" DA/Ultegra group?

::: waiting for snarky Indolent comment :::

Nice "beater" bike! :D

I've already made them.. Except when the dealer gives you the Shimano take offs make sure they bag them or box them up. You wouldn't want to touch any of that stuff.

Joy that looks nice. Bring it over here when you get it and I will straighten those stays and forks for you.

They seem appropriate for the rider: warped.

And 42.5cm? That's the longest stem I've ever heard of.

Happytime 03-03-08 10:40 AM

Longer than yours, V.

If you straighten them she won't be able to put her feet down!

That would be unnecessary, as one will be planted fully into your backside.

already regretting this purchase, but i need a new helmet. current one is old, smelly, and doesn't match the team kit.

this one i didn't regret so much. current pair are getting old, carbon is fraying, and, of course, they didn't match the team kit.
