I hear ya. If they could just made it just a little deeper to fit the components behind the monitor, and have better software support, I'd be tempted to go that way for my next computer.

Honestly I have used both macs and pcs in the past, and there are things to work better on each system, and it will always be like that. Which one is better? Honestly who cares, you just need to know how to use the system (and steer clear of viruses on the mac).

I use a Mac for school, a BlackBerry when I'm mobile, and a PC for everything else. I've even managed Linux boxes.

It comes down to this:

PC = Shimano
Mac = Campy

Doesn't matter what platform... just get a big monitor.

Bikes: roadbikes and full-suspension mountainbikes

Happytime, I'm on a PC for work and a Mac for play. Enjoy 'em both but I tend to favor the Mac with all things being equal.

The only thing that matters there is the web browser. You can get Safari on both PC and Mac, and Firefox on all platforms. Just don't use IE.

Safari has the "porn mode."

Bikes: Cannondale Synapse '06, Mongoose titanium road bike '00--my commuter. Yes, Mongoose once made a decent ti road bike.

I use a PC both at home and work with a Blackberry for mobile. In addition I use Shimano on my bike. Dang, that's like vanilla ice cream.

I didn't realize the new imac's had a 24" version. Now that would be tempting if I was on the market. Maybe next generation.

I am on a PC that I built.. I enjoy building my PCs(I have a couple). But I think I might buy a Mac Pro as my next 'major computer investment' mainly because I plan to get an iPhone, I have an iPod and I would like to get into editing photos and maybe video as a side hobby(I used to work at a photography studio and want to get back into my photography). I never liked Macs before. As I play with them and from how I have seen my friend incorporate Macs into his company I am more and more impressed and willing to be a computer hippie .

I'm way old school Mac. I remember when it was called Aldus Pagemaker, SuperPaint was the bomb, a 24-bit video card would set you back almost a grand, and a 17" monitor weighed almost 50 pounds.

At one point, I became a gaming junkie, going so far as to build an overclocked silent gaming PC with a Japanese anodized aluminum case and dual RAID. Luckily, I came to my senses. Computers are tools, not ends in themselves. I'm 100% Mac again, and spend all my time on the computer *using* it, and almost no time managing it.

Telnet? In 2007?

ssh is what you want. Download Putty for Windows or protect your long term mental health and use Linux.

FYI it also crashes Linux Computers! This is not an OS problem as much as it is a design flaw.
