It's a steady rain up here in Santa Clara. Hopefully it's dry by the time I drive down this Saturday.

Good morning. I'm off to the gym and then an all day offsite. Sigh. With dinner tonight, it's going to be a long day.
Offsite? It'll be lonely without you.

Long day, huh? I was asleep by 11:30, up by 3:30, and am going to the Poinsettia Bowl tonight...so won't be in bed until about midnight...then up at 4 tomorrow.

Y-fricken-ay.

You just keep it up there, pal. We don't want any of that down this way.

Awww.. Jeff, ya got me all excited and it's not even Friday!!!

I got back from a 40-miler. There was cloud cover so it was not as cold as it had been. Tights, LS base layer and SS jersey was all today. Hooked up with some guys heading towards the Pier Ride. I just noticed some snot shrapnel on my tights. At best, I hope it's mine.

I hate being congested...snot flies everywhere, no matter how talented I may be a snot rocketing.

At least with solid crusties, you generally know where they're headed...but when it shoots out in a spray at 25 mph...it can get all over your shoulder, arm, cheek, ear, helmet, glasses, legs, bike...Then, of course, you use your gloves to wipe it off, then hit a pothole and grab your bars...so now you've got snotbars to deal with.

It's was definitely a spray day today. No snot bars, though. Sacha would have a fit.

Forty miles, outstanding.

I found it a tad cooler this morning than yesterday out here. Yesterday I was out in short sleeves before the sun rose.

I did a quick 15 this morning, not as cold for sure. Some puddles on the back roads but mostly dry for the most part. I haven't washed my bike in almost 2 weeks due to the weather we've been getting. Another storm coming in, so MORE rain..ehhh means I have to go to the gym. Just hope it doesn't rain this weekend.

I've got those aerobars. Well, not THOSE but the same model, just the aluminum version...

Is it bad that when i looked at the calendar pictures i was initially more interested in the details on the bike?

I prefer more subtleness. The style of the shot doesn't look very classy. No offense though; just my opinion.

I did that to my Garmin and it survived
Your wife accidentally washed it, or you accidentally left it in a pocket?

Weird seeing photos of the new Discovery/Astana Team

"Despite being full members of Astana, contractual agreements keep the Disco riders in their 2007 kits until the end of the calendar year."

Reminds me of what my buddy went through a few weeks ago. While at a computer convention back east, he saw a CSC booth and sitting inside was David Zabriskie. The computer nerds completely ignored him, having no idea who the skinny guy was, much less that he was no longer riding with CSC. (I guess since he's still obligated to wear the colors til the end of the year.)

So my friend sat down next to DZ and had a long, friendly chat about cycling.

We're having a break and I pop on for this?

Hmmm...no thunking the cotton candy blue kit. Sorry. Now, put them boys in white, and I'd thunk it, dunk it and...

...I'll just stop at that.

Oh...hi...you're back.

I never would have imagined that kit color made a difference...I though a conniption fit might have occurred at the sight of knit and cycling caps/un-helmetted noggins.

ps. the guy on the left in the back is mid-snotrocket. I'm sure the people in the car behind him are super pleased at their good fortune.
