Khs tr 101

https://khsbicycles.com/bikes/2013-khs-models/tr-101/

Found this while browsing. Gearing is a little aggressive but it has 36 hole rims.

Whoa! I randomly found an unusual bike. It looks like a road bike but it has larger tires and disc brakes. Mongoose Rogue: https://www.mongoose.com/bikes/urban/commuter/rogue

Looks like a budget Salsa Vaya. Geometry is very similar.

Edit: MSRP seems to be around $1100, not really *that* much more affordable than a Vaya 3, though it is STI equipped if that's your thing.

Just found another brand I didn't know made a touring bike. Devinci Caribou 1 and 2:
https://www.devinci.com/bikes/bike_274_scategory_71

https://www.devinci.com/bikes/bike_275_scategory_71

and another one; Opus Legato and Largo:
https://opusbike.com/en/bikes/road/touring/largo

https://opusbike.com/en/bikes/road/touring/legato

Oops, looks like the only original bike in this thread is the Mongoose Rogue. The KHS, Devinci and Opus bikes were already on the list of bikes in a sticky thread here.

it always bugs me how so many bike that would be perfect for touring, come standard with 50/39/30, or 52/42/30....I am sure it is simply because a 46/36/26 costs more to buy, so they dont, even though they know darn well the latter is geared more appropriately.

I think it has to do with marketing more than anything else. Light and medium touring cyclists can probably do fine with OEM gearing and they probably account for more new touring bike sales than from the expedition level touring cyclists.

I agree 48/36/26 is probably more realistic. Check out this Ghost TR 1800 now available in Canada. It also has a dynamo hub and lights. And a freakin' chainguard! lol https://www.mec.ca/AST/ShopMEC/Cyclin...cle-unisex.jsp
