Route help
A bud and I will be riding east from Rochester area on NY bike route 5/Erie in mid May. We will divert at Amsterdam and head for Portsmouth, NH.
Question: Are there any longish, decent, E-W trails near our Amsterdam-Portsmouth route that we should consider?

Google maps for cyclists seems to suggest the W/Mohawk trail and the Rockingham Recreational Trail. The latter is about 26 miles towards the end of your trip, can't quite figure out how much of the former you might use. But a bit of research on their websites might pay dividends. Can't speak from experience, when I toured in that area I went East West, from Troy to Amsterdam and beyond.
Amsterdam NY, unlike its older namesake in the Netherlands, is one of the least attractive towns I can remember.
