Oh, yeah. The twitch is niiiice! Feels like the late, great Gen. 1 Cannondale (the seafoam green one). The Fuji Track Pro (mast seatpost) is a really nice ride, but never really felt dialed in for me. The Serenity did almost instantly.

At Flanders they could not give me more info about the frame, will do some more research.
Not to highjack or anything, but how do you repair a dimple in a top tube?

I think I'll need a longer stem, but this is from my first time at the track.

Nice! What brand/model fork did you use for this build?

I finally got my bike dialed in...half-way through the season.

I've been doing lots of evaluating and reevaluating of my bike, bike fit, and riding position. It's been driving me nuts. Now with the 130mm stem and these new bars I'm FINALLY in the most comfortable and powerful position ever, which have resulted in lots of PBs in the last week or two. Including a PB solo top speed (two days in a row) and flying 200M time

My self-fitting had me in a weak and inefficient position. An expert bike fit is FREE POWER and EFFICIENCY. Well...maybe not free. But, well worth the fit fee.

I bought this frameset from Alfredo Gios himself, who shipped it over straight from Italy. I have been urged not to ride it because it's got that vintage potential, but what's the point. It's either this or nothing until I can buy a more showy track bike. I have to say though, I feel incredibly comfortable on it. Maybe next season if I'm still pumped about track racing I will shop for something new.

Looks incredibly fast - nice job! Those 3T bars are so hot right now...

Looks great.

And regarding not riding it because it's got vintage potential: It would be a waste to NOT ride and race it.

This is like the guys who buy real sports cars and drive them on weekends...to run errands. DRIIIIVE that son of a *****!! Haha!

Don't make a garage queen out of your bike. Race it for a few years, THEN it will have even more appeal as a vintage bike because it will also have stories attached to it...and if you are lucky and train hard...medals and jerseys!

This forum needs a "like" button. Thanks and you're right, I'm never going to sell this bike. The use I'll give it will add so much personal value. I like racing it. It was the Gios Team Issue bike back in the day. And I've never seen a bike with gussets, not to mention a Gios pista at all in the US. I have seen just a few old Gios road bikes.

Thanks! It is fast. Mr. Tiemeyer is a master.

The bars are hot because they are effective...not just the next new carbon toy. 3T really got the ergonomics right. They thought "out of the box" and got away from the traditional round tube design which has been around for over 100 years. They took advantage of the freedom that carbon gave them.

I honestly believe that they should win design awards for these bars. They are truly innovative. Hopefully the UCI doesn't ban them (knock wood).

Alright spill it, Carleton: Lets have those times!

Also, how do you like T-Town? Does it seem like a "fast" track to you?

Just under 40mph in the f200 with an 11.9" on 32 spoke training wheels. There is hope for me yet

TTown is pretty fast. It's not really steep, but the curves are wide and long so your speed isn't sapped out like when riding a 250M with a tight radius. The surface is smooth. I hear the track is great for pursuits, too.

Congrats, man! 11.9 on spokes is smokin'. You'll be flying with the fast bits on!
