That twitchy feeling is the 35mm rake on the sprint fork. It feels twitchy at low speeds, but will track like a sports car at high speeds as opposed to being sluggish. I have 30mm (slightly more aggressive) on my Tiemeyer and at 40MPH it moves like it's directly wired to my brain, haha.

this is a 1980 gitane profile s track frame i bought in nyc last weekend. this is a very rare gitane track frame . this is the first one in ten years ive seen other than in the catalog. its made if 531 reynolds aero tubing . now i have the matching set as i have the road tt version also. 
it needs to be repainted to original gitane blue and new decals.

I finally got my bike dialed in...half-way through the season.
I've been doing lots of evaluating and reevaluating of my bike, bike fit, and riding position. It's been driving me nuts. Now with the 130mm stem and these new bars I'm FINALLY in the most comfortable and powerful position ever, which have resulted in lots of PBs in the last week or two. Including a PB solo top speed (two days in a row) and flying 200M time
My self-fitting had me in a weak and inefficient position. An expert bike fit is FREE POWER and EFFICIENCY. Well...maybe not free. But, well worth the fit fee.
I've been doing lots of evaluating and reevaluating of my bike, bike fit, and riding position. It's been driving me nuts. Now with the 130mm stem and these new bars I'm FINALLY in the most comfortable and powerful position ever, which have resulted in lots of PBs in the last week or two. I bought this frameset from Alfredo Gios himself, who shipped it over straight from Italy. I have been urged not to ride it because it's got that vintage potential, but what's the point. It's either this or nothing until I can buy a more showy track bike. I have to say though, I feel incredibly comfortable on it. Maybe next season if I'm still pumped about track racing I will shop for something new.

The bars are hot because they are effective...not just the next new carbon toy. 3T really got the ergonomics right. They thought "out of the box" and got away from the traditional round tube design which has been around for over 100 years. They took advantage of the freedom that carbon gave them.
I honestly believe that they should win design awards for these bars. They are truly innovative. Hopefully the UCI doesn't ban them (knock wood).

TTown is pretty fast. It's not really steep, but the curves are wide and long so your speed isn't sapped out like when riding a 250M with a tight radius. The surface is smooth. I hear the track is great for pursuits, too.
