Don't be pregidious. If you include beer, you must include hard liquor.Anyways, I often eat pasta (once every 1.5 days usually) but ground beef is always the old reliable to goto when my stomach needs food. My diet is limited because of allergies to corn, wheat/gluten, and milk, so beef is the number one thing that is really easy on the tummy for me personally. (Don't ask me why beef is and rice bread isn't, I really do not understand it)

I was forced to pick beer but there should be a cheeseburger and beer selection Cheeseburgers are the ultimate food. A well built burger includes all food groups, except beer and another you forgot about Chocolate. Aren't cyclist a bit picky?

Hey I vote the yellow food group!!! a NAMA!!!! goes down so smooth and doesnt cramp the tummy. And after you have the peel to toss on the ground... oops!! did I say that... NOT I... I always keep my peels.. place them in my bag, zip them up and forget about um!!! till the next long ride.. and I go ICKY!! See how much fun the yellow food group is.... it can linger on and on... it will bring you back to when you ate it!!! you have that dumb look in your eyes as you stare off..... oh yes that ride to never never land.... ahhhhhhhhh yes.... then the big bubble above your head appears.. as you remember...... wax sentimental...

Well, I'm taking the purely cycling answer and
disregarding page 5,462 of Cannibalism for perfect Health
By Dr. Jeffrey De Salvo. I voted Bananas. Perfect ride
food. Tasty, nice packaging, biodegradable.
I consider Ramen and Pasta the same food group and
a close second.
AnnieYak, uhm, I don't think you're supposed to
smoke the banana peel (that went out in the 60's).

Velo, you're not going to like my answer, but here it is:
There is no ultimate food! That is, it takes all the varieties of food to do you justice (and if you're vegetarian, all varieties of food you allow yourself to eat.)
(I'm partial to apples.)

I like the way I can chuck the 'nana skin away in the hedgerows
I don't like the way the 'nana turns black and nasty after 30 miles in your jersey pocket.
I hate the way a 30 mile 'nana in your jersey pocket squidges everywhere when you lie back on a grass verge for a rest.

I voted Pasta, because you can make a pasta sauce many ways; however I really do believe that GU is the ultimate food.
GU is not really food, but when it is time for a packet of GU, I really look forward to it because I feel so much better afterwards.
regards
Dan

BROWNIES...Very possibly nature's most perfect food.
I could live on brownies and cole slaw.

PIZZA!!! Some might say that pasta is soo flexible as to how you can eat it. On the other hand pizza rocks because of WHEN you can eat it: morning, noon, or night, hot or cold it just doesn't matter!

Mannnn, we used to make some REALLY GOOD brownies back in college. But we always put choc. icing on 'em..not cole slaw...I don't think....well if we did, I guess it tasted pretty good. All I know is that the more brownies you ate the more you wanted
