Apple Cider Vinegar

Does anyone have any experience with the use of apple cider vinegar in their diet?

I keep some around. It's good for making vinaigrettes and gastriques.

I use Bragg raw, organic apple cider vinegar. I don't know if I could attribute any paticular health benifit directly to its use but it is a very good vinegar.

I believe that it did help my digestion a little when I was using it for that purpose. Take acid reflux for an example. 99% of people suffering from acid reflux have too LITTLE stomach acid NOT too much. Its a scientific fact that as people age we produce less stomach acid not more so why there is an epidimic of people using antacids as they get older defies scientific logic and common sense.

They would all be better off using some apple cider vinegar rather than taking antacids and suffering the further deterioration in health that antacid use brings on.

It's deffinietly not a miricle cure, there's more to low stomach acid than that. I've suffered from low stomach acid for many years and it was associated with serious disease. I'm SOO happy now to have the ocasional warm stomach because that stomach acid protects you from so much disease.

Now none of what I've just written is paticuarly controversial science wise. The importance of stomach acid to ones health is quite well understood scientificaly to the point where the commonplace use of antacids is just ludicrious.

Regards, Anthony

+1, been using it almost daily for a dozen yrs or so... barring ACV, the old 'horse' "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" carries a lot of anecdotal muscle...

I work at Bragg Live Foods, here in Goleta/SB
for more info on ACV, visit site - https://www.bragg.com
...not a plug, carry on however you might...

Most american diets are too high acid anyway. Baking soda is often suggested to counterract it, but AFAIK, it's a myth as well.

Ok, so Apple Cider Vinegar has a long history but may be short on scientific empirical evidence. I guess you might do just as well if you use a vinegar with your salad and eat that last instead of first, if that makes any difference.

just to be clear to anyone who might think white vinegar and ACV are essentially the same, the only real similarity White Vinegar has with ACV is the general 5% dilution level of acetic acid within most stuff on the shelves. Otherwise ACV is vastly different from any white vinegar (as most other vinegars are different from each other) for all its additional components.

Anthony G has hit on a key benefit of ACV, in addition there is much strong anecdotal that it has further benefits. Personally, I have a few successes myself, which I'll spare you from, since its not directly cycling related. Having been quite a hard 'skeptic' on this myself, I was easily turned once I actually gave it an honest try. But thats me, and not you.

Contrary to the term 'miracle', which seems to be used freely for almost every thing that catches the fancy of sheeple, ACV seems to have a systemic positive effect for many (and also animals, I might add).
However you take it, it really doesn't matter. A daily salad or drink or whatever seems to work.
There certainly are caveats for its use, and some can't tolerate it for any number of reasons. But within reasonable use many will find some general systemic and digestive benefits.
As a component of a homeopathic way to optimum health, ACV is certainly a contributor.

The ACV pill thing? Its different enough to say that becuase one may have an effect doesn't mean the other will also. I've not tried the pill, nor have a need to. So I won't venture an opinion.

BTW, non of this is Bragg company line and is strictly my pablum...

Regular comercial vinegar is made from wheat and as well as tasting awful its hard to digest. When I had serious digestive complaints I avoided regular vinegar but ACV was OK. Its a nice tasting vinegar as well. Also from a stomach acid/protein digesting point of view its best to take it before a meal rather than after so using it as a salad dressing for the first course is good.

I don't know about drinking it, but mixed with good bentonite powder it makes a PHENOMENAL masque. A masque so tight it basically sucks your face off. Amazing stuff. There's nothing else on the market to touch it.
