Been a member for awhile but just moved to Little Haseley ( near Oxford) from the US and commute to Abingdon now everyday by bike '64 Raleigh Gran Sport. About 13 miles each way.

I never saw much difference after the congestion charge, it was still just as quick to walk across town as take the bus. That said I'm aware there are a lot more cyclists about than there used to be, and I don't think I'm only noticing them since I joined the ranks of cyclists.

Oh yes, watch for people using silly foreign terms like tyre, centre, metre and talking about alien concepts like riding on the left and turning right across traffic.

North Queensferry? That bloody hill up to the station, I'm out of breath thinking about it.

I did it on my Dahon folder the other day. The front wheel was bouncing off the ground the whole time. I usually come in to the village the other way, so down the hill!

Did it twice today, The first bit is fine but that finally slog up the hill is hell, I only do the hill for the view of the bridge, It's worth it in my opinion!

I'm from England originally! Did my fair share of cycling as a kid around the old roads in Weston-Super-Mare.

Used to cycle in London, moved to wales end of 2009. I have always cycle whenever I get the opportunity, cycled in london solidly for nearly five years.
I started cycling again, two years ago, but m getting old , so have decided to get an e-bike.
Hopefully the forum would guide me along.....

Hello from Cumbria!! this is I think a majority US based forum but I find it the best in terms of good people and good information.

Don't forget to lace up and run if you can, even a few miles a couple of times a week will have more impact than any other form of exercise, good luck to you!

Leicester here, lurked for a while but am looking at getting back on the bike for my short (3 mile ) commute.

The knees won't take running, but I exercise at the gym twice a week. Slowly getting to my target weight
(Nee broon dog for me - never did like the stuff even when I drank !)
