Probably for about as much as it would cost me to have someone weld two of these trailers together I could buy my own equipment.
Jealous...

I know nothing about welding, so it remains to be seen how suitable the item I've seen actually is. I'm going to post about it in the frame-building forum in a minute and see how badly flamed I get

Bikes: Viking Urban Trail. Schwinn Spoiler

Here ya go Rock_Ten,

This is what I got a mat to weld up for me the other week. It still needs to be tested out but I haven't gotten round to it as iv'e been busy constructing my new BIG trailer plus adding a wooden box etc to a trailer I bought the other week.

Hitch (rose/heim joints) on bike to recieve trailer. One on each side of wheel.

The trailer hitch part I had my mate weld up - (still have to attach frame to it).

Frame will be clamped (until welded) to the white stem that revolves.

Keep yer fingers crossed that itall works this time

Tom

I now have a welder (for £20!), and enough scrap metal to make the trailer. Now all I need to do is learn how to weld properly!

Today I picked up four Royal Mail post-bike front baskets, so that's some good tubing to use for the basket of the trailer.

Hmm, I've just been outside cutting up the baskets, but I'm not sure what length to make it. Most single-wheel trailers have a cargo area that is between 640mm and 700mm long. I can make this one up to 90cm long quite easily, but I wonder about the handling. Maybe I should go for a smaller size - after all, this trailer is meant to be a small and narrow one, to be honest it's primary purpose is to be eye catching and make me look capable in my role as a cycle courier (the only one in my city). I can always build some bigger two-wheeled trailers in future. I'm just having a look around to see how long people made DIY single-wheeled trailers.
