Roger, do you live in Washington as well?

If so, any bicycle touring company connections you have available?

Yes, I live just across the pond from DD, in Snohomish. Unfortunately, I don't have any connections. If there's something you need looked into, PM me.

Thank you.

Mrs Gomango and I are considering a return to your beautiful part of the country.

Will pm when a little closer to date.

Maybe DD has an idea or two on the topic as well.

Beer braised pork roast with potato cake, blood orange and caraway braised cabbage, sauteed spinach and a braising liquid reduction/sour cream sauce. Tasty.

Thanks YoKev-

I think my friend did a great job with the drop out... no part of the stays receives any heat, so no twisting or messing up the frame in any manner! The only part of the mod involves any heat is the gusset fill piece for the forward portion of the drop out, the rest is notched and removed, and finally cleaned up. Tim outdid himself with this one! It's simple, clean, and very affordable. Plus, it preserves the derailleur potential of the original drop out... makes for a versatile frame!

Hey, on a different note, do you have any pics of your Koga Miyata? I'd love to see it! I recently picked up a 1991 Koga Miyata mountain bike for $50.00, I'm just finishing up the rebuild and I can't wait to hit the trails with it!!!

Enjoy the weekend!

Hello all,

Here are some more examples of my buddy Tim's metal work, Tim modified the previous two frames I posted (on page 47). He just finished up this mod... pictured is my 1991 MIYATA Seven 21... I think the drop outs look great!

Where is that, anyway?

Trees were down everywhere. It was bad enough to knock out power for 250,000 homes in King, Pierce, and Thurston county. The pictures were taken at West Valley Highway in Auburn.

I really did try to find a thread to post these on the road forum but no they don't like entertainment. Some pic's from the Tour down under.

I met a guy from France here for the racing, very excited to see my Peugeot he said he sold them back home and had no idea they were imported to Australia some decades ago and yep I did a quick lap of the track straight after the racing.

By nature I am nocturnal. Your pics of night riding strike me exactly where I live! Don't get me wrong; I still love sunshine, but I wake up at 10:00 P.M.

You Pacific Northwest guys are making me homesick ... SIGH! You say Snohomish ... too near Vancouver for this ex-pat!

Right on Lenton58! I feel 'ya... the Snohomish Pass is an amazing place! Everyone should experience that part of the northwest at least once in their lives! My sister and her husband still live in Sammamish and my nephew attends the university in Bellingham. She sent me pics last weekend of their first big snow, just a bit more than a dusting... what did they call it... Snowmageddon? Here is a link to the MSN blog she sent:

https://photoblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news...-seattleor-not

I actually very much enjoyed seeing your post about riding in the middle of the night and "owning the road" as I have insomnia from time to time. I too am a night person, the best job in the world was running a coffee house that stayed open late into the night! All the "joe" I could drink and paid plus tips under the table. It was perfect! Plus, it was a 5 minute bike ride from my home and art studio, it didn't get any better! I love the streets in the quiet of the early am hours! I can relate to you on that level and I too share the love of the quiet, empty road!

Cheers!

-D-

p.s. Sendai? Christ, is there anything left of the place?

Here's my latest Craigslist gem...

* let me take a moment to thank all the Craigslist flakes who failed to show up and helped to make this score possible *

... pictured is a 1987 American made in Greenville, MS (just like the Paramountain) Schwinn Cimarron LE frame that I picked up for $5.00! All that fillet brazing, lugged construction. and double butted 4130 tubing... I can't wait to get busy!!!

Vanishing Point

I'm at one end of the Western Canal Trail Path in Gilbert, AZ. Ruler straight for 10-12 miles. I rode about 8 miles west and then back during my Birthday ride.
