A Fright Night Cramerotti Build..
A good friend of mine picked up this bike last year. We believe it to be and early 80's Cramerotti. The bike had been horribly sprayed by the previous owner (I wish I had a before picture which would clearly show that this was not another 'should I repaint' debate). CJ decided it was a keeper, so a couple weeks ago we stripped it down and sent it for a $150 powder coat.
The paint came out really well for the price considering they did the stripping of the old paint. It's also not as thick as I was expecting to see.
We grabbed a case of beer tonight, and set up a build station in the living room. This way we could still serve all the munchkins their candy.
Everything came together quite nicely. I believe it's all original except for the brake levers, which were upgrade at some point. Campy 980 drive train, modolo brakes, cinelli bar and stem, ofmega headset, crank & hubs....

Ah... a great example for all of those folks that say powder coating is a BAD idea on a lugged frame. It turned out BEAUTIFULLY!

I really should have got a photo of the pumpkins in the background and some nicely decorated trick or treaters.
On the topic of pedals, I am looking for a decent (and cheap) set for him. He's not nearly as obsessive as most of us when it comes to bikes. When he first bought the bike he just rolled into the LBS and picked the first set of cheap heavy steel pedals with plastic clips. Made me cringe. haha.

not to be contrarian, but how about resolving the frayed front brake cable... Maybe soldier to terminate the unravel and shorten the housing a tad to have a fair entry to the caliper, and maybe a ferule too.

Good point. The cable is really bad, worse then it looks in the picture. I asked him to pick up new cables, but alas, he didn't. That being said, I never considered shortening the housing and then trimming the cable. Great idea. And we did forget to put on the ferule, but I didn't want to risk not getting the frayed cable back through the brake. haha.
