Generic for Robaxin. I'm not sure how bad my balance would be on the bike under a full dose, but since I'm new to clipless, and a full dose really makes me groggy, I was not going to risk it.

A year ago, during a bout of Sciatica in my left leg, I used Flexeril and that would make my knees buckle under me while walking down steps or getting out of a car.

No ride yesterday, first miss in 52 days. Thunderstorms started while we were in Mass and kept up all day, not going to ride with lightning any where near by. Mikey and 2MB, I too am using Robaxin, for my abdominal spasms (surgical and scar tissue complications,) the pain management physician prescribed them when I asked for something that would not make my dizzy, light headed or feel like I was buzzed, for riding safely. My old Rx was "deadly" and I could not use it if I wanted to ride and the medical establishment and pharmacist are working to stop the use of it (Soma, or Coma if you would,) the Robaxin works well for me. If you have a need for a muscle relaxer and cannot afford the dizziness or detached feeling I'd say to talk with your doctor about its use and any contraindications or Rx conflicts it might have for you. I have none of the stomach upset that Soma gave me, either. Just a thought for those that are looking for a switch.

OK, I'm whining! Just had surgery and can't get back on the bikes until 30 days. For me that means 14 July which is forever! I have a sneaking feeling I'm not going to last that long and will cheat and ride a trike which won't put any pressure on the incision. Not being able to ride is miserable. I've got the itch right now to get on the trike and I'm only 11 days in. Everyone enjoy your rides all the more knowing that you can ride.

Yes, I did, 12 miles in morning heat and humidity, and I am feeling a little achy and tired now. I have stuff to do tomorrow, and I hope to ride on Wed.

Did my commute today. It was 80degF when I reached the train station this morning. Rode a drippy 13 miles to work. Left the office a bit early and caught an early train home. It was another drippy 14 home. I rode the 1973 Raleigh Gran Sport today. It was great!

I have since learned that the bridge was bought by Pendleton to be put over a nearby creek as a trail project. For bikes to ride over. But that was a few years ago.

Today: 40-ish miles with my wife (planned, anyway)

Restarted the rides yesterday, waited out a thunderstorm, or so I thought. Got started and about 2 miles out I hit the edge of the storm's track. No lightning or thunder so I just enjoyed the cool temperatures during my ride. Missing one ride wasn't too bad, just severe withdrawals and a lot of thinking about riding while I cleaned and did maintenance on the bike.

I got caught out by the rain moving through, again today. Started out with some clouds but dry, got a few miles out and the rain came across from the southwest. They were not showing up on the NWS radar but were the usual pop-up southeast thunderstorm type. Still, I made the ride and it was cooling from the humidity we are having. Had to watch the braking distances with the wet rims and pads and the glasses were useless, except to hold my mirror. Actually was enjoyable to ride as there was next to no traffic for some reason.

18 miles on the mtb at the Kingdom Trails in East Burke VT on Monday. The New England Mountain Bike Association held it's annual festival at the Kingdom Trails over the weekend and I was helping out at the shop's booth. I didn't get to ride Sat or Sun, but we all stayed over Monday to ride, and what a ride it was! There's a trail there called Tap and Die that has big swooping turns up the sides of hills, beautiful flowing curves cut through the trees, bermed corners, and fun descents - I was grinning from ear to ear at the end. Heck, I smiling now just thinking about it.

Absolutely! Since I didn't get a chance to get one in yesterday, I did my usual 35 mile ride at the wilderness MUP. Very hot and humid again, but there was a nice 5 mph wind to help things out.

I rode last night after dark for 13 miles. Legs are getting stronger. Lungs are getting clearer. I have mild asthma and the exercise helps that.

Got in 15 miles today at a 13.8 avg with good climb up telephone Rd only had a hour tried to make the best of it.

No weather tricks yesterday, just a nice hard late afternoon ride. Even though the NWS and Weather Channel warned about high heat index problems this week, it was not really bad to me. Got in a few extra miles just because it felt right yesterday. Hope that everyone gets in some quality rides when posssible.

Just back from a great weekend at Bike Virginia. Weather mostly cooperated, except for a nice downpour on the century day. Six days of riding over the Blue Ridge Mountains and in the Shenandoah Valley in Rockbridge and Botetourt counties.

Friday:48 miles, half on the BRP
Saturday: 65 miles including the Goshen Pass along the Maury River
Sunday: 105 miles, 8500 ft of climbing going over the BRP passes twice at Reeds Gap and up from Crabtree Falls down into Vesuvius
Monday: 50 miles on the route, plus another 15 miles of wandering
Tuesday: 83 miles including some of the same roads I'm familiar with from Mountains of Misery. Only one killer climb though, about a mile at 12-13%
Wednesday: 55 miles, and it's back to work

Two rides on Tuesday.

The first one I went to Littleborough with my partner which meant I had to cycle 5 miles into town to catch a train then rode up a canal towpath while he walked (with a stick).

Got to Summit which is the highest point on the Rochdale Canal and then started up a very steep and narrow road.

I had to get off and push hate to say, it was about a mile and very twisty and steep. We were trying to get to Light Hazzles Quarry but there was no way in.

Came back down and was hard not to just let go and fly down but it wasnt safe anyhow as there were drainage channels to drain rainwater of the road and some were quite wide and hollow so any bike esp a road one could get damaged badly.

So came down carefully and then we found a rock outcrop where my fella rummaged and found some specimens.

Went back down the canal to Littleborough and headed back to the station where I rode 5 miles home again.

Later on I met my bike group for a short ride to Media City where the BBC has relocated from London to Manchester.

I think they were checking the place for a possible night out but werent too impressed.

They headed back to the City Centre but I turned for home.

Did more than enough that day.

About 20 miles in all.

Also today 35 miles to Stockton Heath and back down the Trans Penine Trail which is a former railway line and used by walkers, horseriders and cyclists.

Met up with a girl I didnt know and who was looking for someone to ride with and we had a pleasant ride and stopped off in a pub for a drink and came back.

It was dry when we set out but by the time we got to the pub it had started spotting rain.

When we came out it was raining and it just got heavier as we rode home.

Was totally soaked through when I got home so clothes in wash, me in shower and a hot coffee in hand to warm up!
