44.5 miles @ 16.5 mph with 1572 feet. Weather was better today but just as windy. Personally I'll take cold over wind but you've got to play it as it lays.
Gave me 200.4 miles for the week. That's my 7th consecutive week of 200+ miles. 8th out of last 9.

Legs feel dead this week. The past couple of five mile rides I had to walk some hills that I was able to ride up last week. Might be overdoing the hills on my main roller coaster route. Sunday I tried a new route that's mostly flat with very gentle grades, and looks like I might be able to wring out a 10 mile circuit for riding to stay limber while not overworking the thighs.

Friday and Saturday were shorter than usual, 20 miles, too much wind and it is cooler than usual, to boot. Today was my regular 26+ mile route, winds let up at around the 13 mile mark and the sun broke through for a few minutes, too. At least we aren't having the torrential rains and the flooding like the Carolinas are dealing with.

Welcome back from all that - lots of ouch potential, especially the ribs.

46 Screamer miles today on a club ride that included a few hills. The Hilly Hundred in Southern Indiana is next weekend, so we can't slack on the hills yet.
Had a close encounter with what seemed to be a Suicide Squirrel at one point. He came out of nowhere charging across the road right towards us - looked as if he might smack our front wheel but somehow he missed us, either right in front of us or maybe between front and rear wheels........

Amazing how such a small creature can strike such fear. Had a similar experience this summer - I'm sure his/her tail is an inch shorter.

Only one short ride this weekend, the south road up Mt.Diablo. Awesome ride, would love to ride it again, and again, and again!

I can relate. There are around 50 ducks that like to squat on the bike path near a creek. Might be the warmth of the concrete. Today one of them was a little slow in moving out of the way and I think I got part of his tail (or something). Maybe I should drag a net behind me and have dinner.

19.9 very slow miles today on the Roubaix. I led a small group, all on fat tired road n' trail bikes. 8mph seemed to be the fastest they could go. But it was a nice ride. I took off on my own on a different route for the last 7 miles @15mph just to stretch my legs.

No ride recovery weekend, so I snuck in a few extra miles at lunch. Gorgeous day, can't wait for the commute home - almost didn't come back from lunch.

Just a quick 6.00 mile ride before dinner. I just wore shorts and a t-shirt as the sun was starting to set. Once I got up to 16,17,etc, mph, that October wind chill hit me. Brrrr...

But it felt great to finally get out after a week of solid rain, even if it was just a short 6 mile spin around the neighborhood streets.

25.7 miles @ 17.2 mph with 998 ft. Beautiful fall day I'd prefer 10 degrees warmer but this is not so bad.

18 miles today as a bike commuter. Another stretch unseasonably nice weather - can't complain about that.

Took one of the 25+ mile routes, ended up with around 27+ miles after all was said and done. It is still overcast here, and the north winds are sticking around, no need for tights and an ls jersey yesterday though. Despite the gray skies, the riding was enjoyable, finally turning back to the south in the home bound leg feels pretty neat with the tail wind moving me along. If only it would stay that way.

Just registered for the Horrible Hundred in Clermont on Nov. 15th, so today was the start of my preparation for the 100 miles with 7 climbs . I'm pretty sure that the Hogpen climb during last weekend's Six Gap Century is more than all of the HH climbs combined.

Biked 4.7 miles to the start of today's local bike club ride and met my friends but headed out for my own ride. Rode 63 miles without stopping at a leisurely 17.4mph. Easy spinning keeping heart rate down for first 39 miles then 53/12 at higher heart rate for the rest to work hill muscles. Finished up with another 7 miles back to the house after stopping by a friend's house so just shy of 75 for the day.

Good start for the HH ride.

33.3 miles on the Allez (the Super Fun Bike). Late start (after 9AM), but it was still pretty cool. Extended my normal Truckee River Bike ride up Sparks Blvd. - Spanish Springs Rd. - Queen Way - Probasco to the Sparks senior Center for lunch. Then took the Queen Way loop again, just didn't feel like stopping the ride just yet, even though the left wrist is still wrapped and in pain. I figure it's going to hurt whether I ride or not, and while I'm riding I don't notice it. Beautiful day, even if the jacket and long pants were a little warm After lunch. More miles so far this year than all of last year.

Decided to go for another ride for an additional 8 miles - after I fixed the rear flat (humph!). Not a sticker this time but a small cut. With all our (so-called) modern technology you'd think we could make pavement that won't crack and tougher tires.

A quick 6 miles yesterday evening on my recently discovered rare flat route in my area. Didn't really have time for a ride - tons of chores at home. But after a month since I resumed riding I found myself needing it. Took less than 30 minutes and felt very energized afterward, so maybe that half hour was more efficient than hanging around home to finish the chores on an empty tank.
