Seems like 6x4.5 medium format. We had it easy compared to you. You nailed the exposure pretty good and aside from the last shot the focus is perfect.

Bogden is an artist. The only flaw I see is me being cropped out of the background on every photo. Where was I?!

that's how i roll.
pentax 6x7 w/ the 45mm f4 lens. the focus on the last one is intentional, the rest are just lucky. it is a little tricky with that lens since the difference between 12' and infinity is a little over a human hair.

Saw Lance do that last year at Santa Cruz - I think before the peloton even. Musta hit the brakes hard at the finish and U-turned. I was around the last corner from the finish and just watched him head the other way.

I had planned to watch some of Stage 4 from teh road, but a doctor's appointment in the morning put paid to that, as BritPower and RumButter would say. So I did the next best thing - I watched the coverage at the Vine Cinema in Livermore. Steve Howard of Livermore cyclery had arranged to have the Vine show that day's race coverage with free (!) admission. So, when Chris Horner made his Tour-winning attack on Sierra Road, I was sitting in a comfy chair watching him do it on a big movie screen munching a pizza in comfort and ease.
I was mildly bummed, because I have seen almost every Euro-pro race in the Bay Area going back to the 1986 Coors Classic and including all editions of the SF Grand Prix and a stage of all previous ToC's, but this was a fun alternative. Kudos to Livermore Cyclery and the Vine Thaeter for making it happen.

more Sierra rd pics
After all the great photos posted here I'm almost ashamed to post mine. Eh, what the heck.
Some handsome gents I encountered along the way.
I lost track of the number of times I had to pull over to catch my breath. Pathetic does not begin to describe it, gahhh. That's Leebob patiently waiting for me.
The early finishers started heading back down ...
... well before the last group made its way up.

Well as long as this thread is for photos AND stories here's a tragic tale.
I blew just under $200 on VIP tickets for Palomar Mountain on the '09 ATOC, and I knew, KNEW Jens was going to lead the charge up my favorite mountain, (which of course he in fact did.) But being a heterosexual clod, I had to meet a girl and her shepherd-chow mix on the Saturday before J-Day for a dogpark date.
Long story short: her dog grabbed my dog by the throat and shook her like a rag doll, the next three hours of the date were spent in a veterinary emergency room with my dog and I wearing each others' blood. I spent the VIP-ATOC day giving my dog pain medication, antibiotics and worrying while some squatters probably enjoyed my paid VIP seating in front of the bigscreen TV.
And of course WCP never bothered to produce a DVD for the '10 ATOC, so I'll never get to see it beyond the $#ite on Youtube, (featuring primarily fat dorks in Bhorat bikinis running in front of the riders.)
But '10 was going to be my Jens year at Big Bear Lake... ? Nope. Somewhere in the tired-looking pack, Jens perhaps zipped by while I yelled my fool head off in vain. WCP fails to come through again. No DVD.
11 is a lucky number... Jens on Baldy this year maybe? Nope. He crashed out the day before yesterday, and at age 40, he probably won't be here next year.
Life sucks. My perma-grimace almost reflects Jens' above.

Some very good reports there.
I was motorcycling in Utah and saw none of the ATOC this year. I did see my own 31 degrees and snow in Utah. On the motorcycle.
And heading up 62, 45 degrees, rain, what do I see? 15 bicycles in a group plodding south, miles from anywhere.
Is there a site that shows the before and after map of Stage 2? I can only find the revised route, but I wanted to compare the two. They were going down I 80?
I did see the photo of what the original Stage 2 starting point looked like. Bit dreary for a bicycle race. But I was out motorcycling in the same weather in Utah.
